Kim Wu revealed for Killer Instinct Season 3

That's not the point, it's that there is a certain way that the characters before her have been designed. She has a flat dull (PS2) looking face rather than what the other characters look like. The level of detail on her overall just seems a lot less.

Her animations looks pretty eh so I think it's just going to be another Maya. Going to give it a go though.

I can see this. There is something really dull about her design, same thing with TJ Combo. Their faces just end up being super generic with no remarkable features or personality.

Looks fine to me in motion. Dunno what the big deal is. She plays great.

Remember what forum you're on. If it isn't perfect (or up to people's ridiculously high standards) then it's going to get shit on relentlessly. Kim Wu looks fine.

also it's from a TERRIBLE quality trailer rip.

well, official trailer doesn't look hugely better. They will improve her model though for sure.

hopefully.

Dude it isn't even up to standard of the other characters in the same game

It's hardly the first time a character looked rough on reveal... TJ Combo was very very rough at reveal

And look at rash and how amazing he looked today compared to his initial reveal... night and day

Remember when they showed Sadira, Combo, Omen, Cinder and Rash and remember how their designs improved drastically post launch?

This isn't new.

This is definitely Celldweller's score. Reminds me of Crackdown.

She'll probably have more work done on her. Same thing happened with TJ. Most of their character reveals are for not yet finished characters.

There have been tons of times a character has received the PS2 complaint and not just on Neogaf but on the official forum. TJ, Kan-Ra, Riptor, Aganos. So I'm not really worrying about a drop of quality.
They also stated that the motion blur isn't even fixed for her showing that there is still progress being done on her character in general.

So now it's not okay to say a character model is ugly? I mean, it doesn't seem to be an unpopular opinion.

looks like season 3 has a reduced budget compared to season 2. Looks cheap all around if im honest

Which would be fitting as KI2 looked like a cheap knockoff of Og KI

Maybe they should stop showing ugly unfinished models if they don't want bad reactions.

And Combo still doesn't look very good.

These takes are spicy

Say what you want, I mean the design is obviously going to get fixed in the final release

Wouldn't having busted looking faces for the humanoid characters but cool monster designs be keeping with series tradition, though?

People can only comment on what they see. The trailer wasn't their best work but in-game... Wow. Stage looked fantastic as did her model and animation. Every KI casual/hater has something negative to say on every character reveal.

Eh, plenty of modern games are living products that change over time based on user feedback and timetables for development. Even disc games are being heavily modified post-release, so we're past the point where it's rare to see devs throw out early looks and early access to incomplete games. I'm sure they understood they would get varying reactions like they have throughout the course of the KI reboot's existence.

Yikes not a fan. Bad design (color combination) not a good looking model and stiff animations (notice how straight her back is on most of her moves)

Its not like KI is the go to place for char design, so its not a big deal
