That's taking a pretty rosy view of it. What I've seen of the PUA philosophy focuses on objectifying women in some pretty basic ways so that the PUAs themselves can feel more confident around women and press some basic buttons to get the woman into bed as quickly as possible, regardless of her feelings or her worth as a person. The whole thing hangs its hat on some pretty old-fashioned ideas about how men are supposed to be emotionless and and have sex with as many women as possible. It's no surprise that it was a short leap from that to the dangerous attitudes MRAs have about women, feminists, etc.

I hung around GAF's dating threads a bit too much in my early 20s, before the PUA movement had really coalesced, but a lot of similar sorts of ugly ideas were floating around and messed with me for quite a while.
