I always wondered if anyone collects the shovelware on this system? It has some great games but do people stop there or even collect like IMAGINE games?

It's more or less like No More Heroes: technically you could trash it very easily, but the game uses Wii controls perfectly, and does crazy things while not taking itself too seriously. It's an amazing experience if you get into it.What is the general consensus about Disaster: Day of Crisis?
I own this game. Completed a good few years back. Really enjoyed it. Don't go in expecting a triple A game, because it's not. What is the general consensus about Disaster: Day of Crisis?

Is it anything like Raw Danger?
you can check if there's any nearby!

or just order from their site
I've never heard of that. It's pretty mission based, so you generally know what to do. I remember that one of the driving sections was really tough and took me a gazillion tries to beat.Is it anything like Raw Danger?

Guy has a "complete" Wii collection. 1260 games. What on earth.

PS2 had that breadth of 3rd party support Wii lacks.
What the freak? Hah.I posted a vid of that guy earlier in the thread when I stumbled upon him cashing the fuck out @ gamestop

playing used games like the stock market, lmao
Complete N64 and Gamecube as well. I'm not sure there's a word for what I'm feeling now.
I know I can google this, but there tend to be so many different answers, so Im just asking here.
I now own both a Pal and an NTSC Wii. Is there any differences on them, or is it really redundant to keep both when I could just softmodd one of them to play all regions. Or is this once again the case of the ntsc-machine being better for outputting 60hz/full image etc. Keep in mind I will use the machine mostly for Gamecube-games (since the Wii ones are being played one the Wii U.)
Well you naturally get the benefit if not having to go through Gecko or whatever region unlock tool you'd use on a PAL Wii to play your NTSC GCN games and should you want to buy some NA VC games that will never appear on Wii U VC due to the platforms not being supported, you get the 60Hz guarantee there.
Video quality wise I have heard nothing about differences, though.
Why?
Thats what i'm saying. I like the systems, but the entire library isnt all that.
Agreed with this.IMO a complete library of any system is a silly proposition.
Half the fun to be a collector is deciding your ideal collection for a system and get it (if prices are acceptable) and also learning the history of a console.
The other half of the fun is actually playing the games![]()

I understand your perspective and I respect it.Complete library collecting isn't for everyone, but it can be very rewarding. People think it's as easy as throwing money out the window and games appear on your shelf, but you'd be surprised how difficult it might be even in today's world to get everything. Collecting is a separate hobby from gaming. You can play the good ones and still collect them all.
And it's all part of the console's history and legacy, both the good and the bad games. It would be a shame if only good games survived, preserving the bad ones are part of our culture.
Just entered an old Wii-game (NPC Pikmin 2) into my Wii U, and it looks and plays fine, except for this line of coloured pixels at the bottom of the screen. Has anybody encountered this problem before? I just completed NPC Pikmin without this issue btw.
I've only played NPC Pikmin 2 on my actual Wii so I can't say if I had the problem. Do more Wii games have the same problem outside of this? It might just be a artifact from the overscan that they never bothered removing.
I like it (last I played it I could still upload my high score)Anyone play Gunbird LA & NY? If so, would you recommended it?

Edit: DId anybody play the Alien Syndrome reboot on the Wii?
Sure, bought it near mint for cheap from GameStop, love it. Both are pure '90s Sega arcade rail shooter goodness, even if they don't have the name recognition of the HotD or Virtua Cop series. Very accurate translation. No attempts were made that I recall to upgrade the graphics any beyond upscaling to 480p, which scratches my nostalgia itch, but may not be to everyone's tastes.
Thanks! Just what I wanted to hear. I'm looking for a Virtua Cop Plus type game, this seems perfect.

I am aware of the importance of preserving videogame legacy or else I wouldn't have lend my contribution to Unseen64.
At the same I live my VG collecting hobby as a fusion between collecting physical games and playing them.
To me there is no difference in playing Sega Rally on Saturn or playing Mario Kart 8 on WiiU just because one is a older product compared the other one.
What matter to me is if my limited free time is well spent on playing a VG (instead of doing other things).
That's why it makes little sense for me to get everything (or many games I have no interest into aside to add another entry in my collection).
It's not upon me to preserve commercial games but to dedicated associations/museums.
As an aside I do actually have a hobby with a little stint of preservating something, so again I can relate to the feeling.
Difference is most of that stuff I collect is undocumented, even by specialists (while I do believe every Wii games is already "ripped" digitally).
I'm rasor focused on a specific niche thus I'm still managing a few hundreds "items", the "items" aren't for the most part available commercially and most of them began life on analogic medium (thus destined to get wasted ...) instead of digital medium.
Complete collectors are a wacky breed. They're all over YT and more hardcore communities.
Because of YT more people are becoming complete collectors as well.
Personally, that's not my style. I'm more of a top 20 for each system type of guy.

I wouldnt call them hardcore gamers at all, until proven otherwise. Hardcore money spenders, hardcore packrats.
Some of these guys have a billion games then upload vids in stretched 480i and no insight into the actual gameplay.
