For people wondering about the cover, it's pretty obvious IMO that Europe and Japan will get a white background with FFXV logo... as usual with FF releases. Maybe US will get a CG character.

But the limited editions/collectors with the steel cases are usually different.
I would love for those to have Nomura art. KH 1.5 and 2.5 cases on PS3 were God like.

Japan will probably get one of these two options.
Rest of the world will get almost assuredly get a CG cover, because it needs to be a marketable cover. =/

Europe might get the same though. There are a few exceptions of course, like FFXIII or Lightning Returns.

I prefer the Black one! It reminds me more of FFXV and early Versus concept art with Noctis sittting on the throne

It will probably happen in the west unless you get the limited or collector's edition which normally comes with a different case/cover

I'm fine with the title logo. Plain and simple. Which probably wont happen considering the covers we got for the XIII trilogy.
Hopefully the CE will be a steel book with just the FF XV logo. Kind of what we got for XII.

The steelbook from Type-0 was also really nice
FF13 sadly broke that trend in Europe. We got the CG cover with Lightning instead of all white like Japan.

I was the same with XIII's CE. Bought it and the shiny guidebook because the hype for a "next gen" final fantasy was real. I'm probably going to buy the FFXV CE without hesitation. It depends what they include. Artbook and OST= sold.

I think something like that but with Noctis sitting in a chair like in the trailers would be great.
Would love to get the simple cover art in the States for a change. Sadly, won't happen. Hopefully there will be an alternate or reversible cover in some version of the game. Something like the FF XII collector's edition, like someone posted above, would be nice.
The simple boxarts look classy and hold up over time. I don't know why publishers often have to choose the bloated, trashy covers that we usually get.
EDIT: As an alternative, I wouldn't mind the 'walking' picture with all the characters in the party walking toward the camera. I think that could be a good cover if done properly.

Heck no. That would be worst cover they could roll with. People who barely knows about the game would more likely be turned off by the angst on the first glance.
This would be a better choice for showing the team without being it too over the top.
If I were to decide, it would look something like this:
Just game title and logo. Minimalistic and clean.

I doubt we'll get a full-shot of the team on the boxart. While there have been many box arts from Square that emphasises the team, there's also more singular focuses among the localised FF box arts from them. The most recent example from Tabata's camp, FF Type-0 HD also emphasised Ace in the standard box art.
If it comes down to just Noctis alone on a box art, my preference would be an updated version of this, with the Roen outfit and current-gen hair.
After all, this is the only Roen-Noctis ( even this is back from VsXIII era) that is shown on the throne, but it's not a box-art material.

My preferred boxart is just the Etro logo and FINAL FANTASY XV on the white background (not black even though it has been shown on a black background before and looks good too).
For the US/non-Japanese boxart I would be fine with just a new render of Noctis with a white background and the logo.

Thanks man! Crazy! SOR2 is definitely my favorite game of all time. Mohawk thing was meant to be a Behemoth type enemy.

I don't get the 'boy band' comments. They ARE a boy band. They just don't sing love songs to teenage girls.

If not that, get that artist to do a specialized piece for the cover art. That would be slick and classy as hell. I think the only time we've got covers that were actual pieces of painted art, it was the Amano ones. I was okay with 13 except for 13-2 that cover art was pretty misleading since Lightning is barely in the game.

I understand that complaint. But what I like about the 13 trilogy box art is the minimalist design. I also like that Lightning is oriented on the left for 13 and 13-2 but is then oriented on the right for the Lightning Returns box art, which hints at change from the previous entries.
I think it's smart design.
