Donald Trump: "She said (Cruz) is a pussy"

This guy is an imbecile of incredible proportions. What scares me is that there are significant numbers of voters who not only lap this up, but encourage it. The same people who are clearly tired of looking before they leap. The very possibility that this man is a serious contender to be at the head of the most powerful nation on earth politically and militarily is very scary.

A lot of people also just think he's funny and want more entertainment. I mean what other candidate in HISTORY would ever repeat that line at a podium

Seeking to ruin American is not "more entertainment". I get it, he can be funny I suppose. But keep that on reality TV shows.

This whole thing really brings me back to McCain in 2008:

While his defense is a little odd (implying that arabs are not decent family men?), it is a defense, and he was right to make the campaign about issues, not personalities.

Now we have Trump.

McCain is a completely different class of politician. I think he would have been an absolute disaster as president, mainly because I think he would have kept us in perpetual war, since he seems quick to support sending troops into conflicts. However, I at least think he thought he had the country's best interests in mind. I don't believe Cruz or Trump truly give a shit about anything but winning by any means necessary. They say anything, support any stance if they think it will rile up their base supporters.

He has no shot at all to win the presidency, so it's more or less harmless to joke around about him getting the nomination.

Yeah, that's playing with fire though. One little mess up on the other side, or hell Bloomberg throwing his hat into the ring could actually make Trump win.

That is a risk I wouldn't want to take in my opinion.

The past two elections made John McCain looked like a saint when he defended Obama against that "Obama is a muslim" crazy lady.

A lot of people hate politics and don't believe their votes matter or that things will change. That's the scary thing about trump to me.... He will get some democratic vote from these types of people

If Bernie gets the nod and it's the "crazy old socialist" vs. Trump, I think he has a shot.

Really I'm not 100% sure Clinton would win either. You can't dismiss him.

Bernie supporters hate Clinton with a passion and if she beats him then they will hate her even more. Sure Bernie dems would choose her over Trump in polls but I don't think they would actually show up in numbers to vote for her. Love of a candidate gets you big votes not hate for another.

The only chance Hillary has after this Bernie war is over is to take him as a vp and he can't really take that position because then he is a hypocrite. Independents could easily go for Trump and if Bloomberg gets in, which I actually think he will, then he hurts Dems overall.

I think there is very little chance Hillary wins a general. I thought she had a good chance but this Bernie fight has a large portion of dems really hating her.

He's surprisingly similar to Reagan. Correct me if I'm wrong, but wasn't Reagan good at saying insensitive things while simultaneously making it seem like he was not saying them?

I really like the Bill Cinton line just recently "Sometimes when on a stage like this, I wish that we weren't married, then I could say what I really think". I don't mean in a negative way, I'm happy". Sure you are Bill.

This election cycle has provided some good quotes.

He has no mercy.

Someone needs to photoshop trump and cruz in here.

Please, Please God!
Let this man become the President of America.

Non-Americans haven't had a US president to laugh at since Dubya.

I hope his face even appears on ALL dollar bills as a lesson to the next generation about the flaws of Democracy.

I'm sure it was a hilarious time for non-Americans but Dubya started a war in Iraq that left a power vacuum which was ultimately filled by ISIS. Maybe it's better for everyone that the United States isn't led by a buffoon.

He's also a TV star like Reagan. He also used to be a Democrat like Reagan.

President Trump will be the new most beloved Republican president for the next 30-40 years. There will be debates in 2040 where all the candidates talk about returning to the halcyon days of the Trump administration.

Ah the dreams of a crazy person.

"Welcome to the second 2040 Republican debate, live from the Trump Library and Casino in Atlantic City. As always, we'll begin tonight's proceedings with the candidates kicking each other in the nuts."

It's clear that this guy is clever and has enough charisma to fire up some people.

He's really good at making headlines, but I don't find his antics funny or appropriate for a presidential candidate in the real world.

Basically:

"That's awful"
"Say it again, I don't want to say it"
"I don't want to say it"
"She said 'He's a pussy'"

Trump got reprimanded a few months ago by news stations for letting some audience member say something offensive loud enough to be picked up by the microphones. People said that Trump should have told the person they were being a jerk/bully/disrespectful. Ever since then, Trump plays that angle up with obviously sarcastic "oh you shouldn't say that!"-type of lines.

Basically, it's Trump specifically targeting/trolling people. It's super transparent of course because that's the entire joke.

Nothing wrong with it though.
