Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

Well damn, I've been fortunate enough to have the game for a couple of days. I had done all the story stuff and most of the survival mode and built up around 400k fight money. This morning I boot up it's all gone. All my accomplishments / completion stats still show up, but the titles, alt colours, and money are gone.

Ma fight moneyyyyyy. Ugh.

Dang 400k in a few days? Is capcom really giving away the dlc? I didn't expect it to be so generous. Keep your eye out you're not the only one that hot reset.

I hope they reset everything on launch, fight money and rank etc though. People shouldn't be getting a head start on rank and dlc.

Who knows they may lower the rate you earn money with a quick hot fix at launch

No, people said it was just marketing and you'd have to pay real cash on just about everything. Why would you trust someone who has the game over someone who doesn't and jumps to conclusion with limited info?

Anyone with a ShopTo order, if you haven't had a dispatch email you may still get the game today. Mine just turned up, I had no email saying it had been sent. It had said 'processing' on the site for the past day and a bit.

Huh?

I'm going by what capcom interviews have discussed, specifically with Matt dhalgen. They talked about balance and fine tuning fight money so that people can earn it but not just something dumb like enough to unlock everything in one night.

Thus guy earned enough for 4 DLC chars after two nights. That's 24 real dollars worth of dlc earned easily. That doesn't make sense to the business model capcom has talked about.

Sorry. It was more of a general comment on people jumping the gun months in advance about how the system is designed to just get people to pay out.

Wasn't aimed at you or anyone specifically, it's more at the make assumptions based on limited info now mentality than anything.

I hope something unpleasant, but not particularly serious, happens to all of you people who get to play this game early.

Like... maybe you find out that your cousin is slightly attracted to you, which makes family gatherings extra weird,

Or you clip your toe nail slightly too short, making for a relatively minor, but consistent, source of pain.

You guys suck!

What is the difference between following and subscribing to a Twitch channel?
Following is just for info when it's on etc, subscribing costs you money and what you get is different from channel to channel. Mostly emotes, sometimes the archives are behind the sub-wall. Justin does stuff like playing against his subs or having a sub voice chat, I think.

I hope they die
at a very old age.

Following means you get a notification whenever that person starts streaming.

Subscribing costs money that goes to the person and a little bit of it goes to twitch. This allows you to support the person and you usually get some rewards while you're subscribed like emotes and chat privileges and stuff.

Wondering if ordering the edition with the season pass on PSN was a mistake if you can unlock one dlc-character with a few days worth of play. Of course maybe they patch the amount of fight money it takes with a day1 patch (afair MKX did something similar, or was that false info at release?).

Other than that, even if they are rushing out the game for tourney season, even if SF is one of my favorite series and I want it to do well, releasing the game without basic game modes should not get a free pass from reviewers and customers.
This is not Killer Instinct, which was priced accordingly to it's release model. This is a full price game that releases with the bare minimum of modes and options. and even if the coming updates & modes are free, they should have been on there to begin with.

FANG is probably my favorite newcomer. The way he animates, his moves.. So good.

He pisses me off just looking at him. Maybe its because he reminds me of an XCOM thin man...

Holy shit, my copy just arrived. Ordered through ShopTo. Didn't even get a shipping notification and my order is still "processing" apparantly but here it is!

That's my weekend sorted.

Follow is free
Sub costs 5 bucks

You support the streamer by subbing. Sometimes chat is locked to subs only etc..

Thanks for the explanations. I would like to support a few channels but it can't be now, because if personal reasons, but in time I'll surely do it.

So for this FAQ for the OT I've covered:
- The HUD
- Crush Counters
- Upcoming DLC
- Wireless and Wired Connections
- Fight Money

What else should I touch on? The games mechanics are explained in the OT already but I feel like I could add a few more to this faq
Moveset including V-Reversal and a short explanation of their V-Skill and V-Trigger

What is this missing that's actually standard? Arcade mode and lobbies?

I don't see much value in delaying the game out for that, but if it really bothers you, you know about it pre release and you should still be able to cancel.

I think the season pass is jumping the gun a bit but you get skins with it and a lot of the fight money is front loaded, at least at this point. You could keep the season pass and hold the FM for later characters.

How does it work at Shadaloo, is Fang 2nd in command, Vega 3rd in command and Balrog 4th in command?

And as much as I despised Fang's design at the reveal, I think he have grown to be my favorite newcomer. He just looks the most interesting and unique, while having an equally unique voice over.

So i'm hearing that these Mad Catz Street Fighter V FightPad PRO dpad aren't good? And that they break in what seems like less then 3 or 4 days of heavy play?

I heard the D-Pad is a bit weird, but never heard of the breaking. Do you have any link on those feedbacks ?

ordered one of those hori fight pads. never owned a fight stick because i cant afford one but the hori pad was only like $35 on amazon.

Alright.

I hope one thing they add later on is frame data since what's going to be in their strategy guides are going to be outdated in 2 months. I think that was a really cool feature to add in MKX.

I thought Bradygames bought exclusivity over the frame data. That's why it wasn't in IV and instead capcom advertised the app on streams.

I take it back I misread it wrong.

Was looking at Aliounes post about the dpad and comparing it to the Hori Commander

That and my dumb ass looking at R Kappa post

Hope that's not the case I got a Pad and the fight stick too as well.....

That's extremely stupid of them to do if that's true. No idea why Capcom thinks milking players trying to get into the Tournament Scene is such a good idea.

Prima already said they will update the frame data in their digital version which you get with every physical copy.

So if you want that frame data, get the guide.

Edit: Oh jeez double post. This is embarrassing.

Alright.

I might be wrong but didn't Capcom say they will be doing major updates only at the end of the year once all the tournaments are finished? Meaning that the guide should be viable for at least this year aside from the upcoming DLC characters.
