Street Fighter V Roster Discussion |Thread 2| Deal with it & place your hope for DLC

So for this FAQ for the OT I've covered:
- The HUD
- Crush Counters
- Upcoming DLC
- Wireless and Wired Connections
- Fight Money

What else should I touch on? The games mechanics are explained in the OT already but I feel like I could add a few more to this faq

The V-Skills & V-Triggers of each character & how they function. Maybe include the movelists of each character (EventHubs has the movelist for the final build).

The priority system?
This, too.

Apparently there's a list of people who have first dibs. I wasn't on the list but they have extras. Overheard them say them may run out by tonight of the extras. Good Luck!

Yeah, that's how it usually goes at VGNY. Paying it in full beforehand gets you priority so you can just walk in with your reciept and pick it up when they get their shipment instead of waiting in line for extras. That's what happened when I got Marvel 3 early from there, anyway.

I'm waiting on a phone call from another place to pick up a copy I was able to secure elsewhere today.

Had originally planned on the move list, but the OT is already pretty massive. I'll consider it.

Ok so now I have:
- The HUD
- Crush Counters
- Upcoming DLC
- Wireless and Wired Connections
- Fight Money
- Crouch teching gone
- Back dash changes
- Chipping out
- Priority system

I think its pretty solid

If not move lists, maybe some general information about V-skills and V-triggers and their usage, since they're totally new mechanics that are quite important.

Starting to get wrapped up in the hype and that gmg 25% voucher makes it awfully tempting.

I'd agree with this -- there's a lot of properties for the V-Skill/V-Triggers that aren't super obvious as you're playing around with a character. Sure it may be covered somewhere else on the internet, but if you're aiming to provide a place for people to get the need-to-know stuff for jumping into SFV, this seems like it should be part of it.

Still haven't won a match. Should have played the Beras:(

I'm guessing that most people who want it early are pretty decent at fighting games... not some of the more casual players who would just wait until Tuesday when it releases.

Personally I would avoid information overload. Character Specific stuff should get its own thread especially since it'll be a nightmare to keep up as new characters get added.

I would be very interested in a character specific mode. Still debating if I want to get this game or not.

Does it mention that there aren't going to be any updated re-releases?

so FYI, I was able to use my PS3 stick, but I had to switch the stick from the left stick option to the Dpad option. I originally had it set on left stick and that works fine for USFIV, but everything was messed up in 5 when I tried it at first. I tried a bunch of things until i realized it need to be set to Dpad

what's the subtitle gonna be?

Scooped the game up today. Waiting for this 6gb update to install. I heard fight money is going to reset on Tuesday, and not to do any single player content.

Does anyone know about how many fights it takes to earn X amount of fight money?
I think in the beta you got 100FM for every win. So if they keep that in the base game you'd have to win 100 matches to get 10K. But there will be dailies and stuff like that that you can boost your FM amount with.

So Polygon asked Ono why hands and feet are so large in SF, and the answer is what many have speculated in the past

If you’ve ever looked closely at Street Fighter characters, you may have noticed their hands and feet tend to be abnormally large — like Zangief’s here. Ono says that hands, feet and fireballs in the series have always been larger than they need to be because they serve as visual markers on the screen to make it easier for players to follow them. They also tend to be more pronounced now that the series is 3-D.

Why they moved away from a heavy combo focus

Dimps President Taskashi Nishiyama doesn’t spend much time in the development trenches these days, but Ono says the two meet often, and Nishiyama regularly offers game design suggestions. For Street Fighter 5, Ono says Nishiyama’s biggest suggestion was to move away from the long combo strings in Street Fighter 4 and towards more of a back-and-forth tug of war that puts as much of a focus on defense as it does offense.

They also go over the reasoning behind each character. For example, Rashid came to be because Harada informed Ono of just how big SF is in the ME.
