Why the fuck are people booing, it was out, its completely fair that Henin didn't get the pt.

It just looked unfair because everyone thought she had it in the bag.

Also, the crowd is pro-Henin in general.

Completely changed the outcome of that game. I can understand it but as the gf is arguing its part of the game. When lines people are bad it just happens. If I was there I would have booed that moment. But not anymore after that.

Just bad luck.

Edit: and wow at how quickly the crowd got behind Henin.

Williams should be down a break

Nope, the judge fucked up and the game went forward.

Everything would have changed had she been given that break, who knows if Henin would have been as up for a break on Serena's next service game? Don't trying to ruin a good match with this kind of bs.

How do we know it was actually in tho? There was no computer-enhanced review...or atleast not on TSN.

It looked like Henin knew it was in and Serena was actually playing the point until she heard the out and thats when she golfed it.

It was probably in (Chair judge and lines judge both thought it was) so that should be good enough.

On ESPN, the commentator said that the rally was replayed to the crowd and it showed that the ball was in. They never showed it to the TV audience so I myself can't say definitively.

But didn't the line judge call out?

I love the crowd for booing at the lines people at the moment

damn wonky eyes today

I think they were actually booing at Serena unfortunately. The crowd even cheered when Serena missed a shot soon after. I guess they could have been cheering for Henin, but she didnt do anything special for that pt.

They are more nervous than the players!

Anyways, Ree needs to be more efficient in the baseline rallies. Henin is winning more of those right now.

Henin needs to, and I'm surprised that she has not yet, move Serena around a bit. Serena is playing about as cruise controlled as she can play right now, and as a fan, I am loving it. Shocked to see how much time Serena has spent just teeing off in the middle of the court.

Ree? is that a common nick name for her?

Depending the side of the serve I meant. So if Serena is serving from the left then she cheats middle (to cover the down the middle aces Serena has been getting) if she serves on the right side then she cheats to cover the wide serve she thinks is coming.

Edit: If Henin would calm the fuck down and play long rallies (which Serena doesn't seem to want) I would be happier.

I'm not sure if she uses it herself or anything but I often see it on the ESPN tennis board. I started using it when I saw it over there.

oh, never heard it before myself.

GOD DAMN

ETA: Henin breaks. For a person that just won the doubles title, Serena hit one really nervous-looking volley

Normally you stand towards the outer part of the service box in order to give yourself the best chance for a forehand and to cover the serve if it comes out wide.

So when Henin moves away from that spot when the ball is tossed I'm calling that cheating because she is guessing where the serve is going.

Please hold Henin. Pleaseeee

It means that she moves over to one side a bit. She favors a direction. She pivots.

ah, thats what i figured. weird word to use...so many new words im learning today.

Never seen the word cheat used this way before.

Sorry, it was the way I was taught : p.

Anyone care to postulate as to why Henin can't keep the ball out of the middle? I would think both women would being hitting more to the corners.

I wouldn't really call those last 2 games "owned", Henin didn't hit any winners, Serena just made a lot of unforced errors.

i was talking about the break point in particular. great hustle by henin and a winner of a shot in my book

The commentators are saying that she wants to move to the net and volley, problem for her is that, she's not hitting her first serves in, and she's rarely getting to the net anyways.
