I admit I was wrong.

I thought Deadpool was going to flop, even as I love the character (look at my username) since the 90s.

Good work on the filmmakers on proving me wrong.

I accept my crow.

ok so now that deadpool has smashed the records... what r rated comic movies would you all like to see that are marvel and dc?

I really want a R-Rated Wolverine now. Also un-related to your question, I want a Freakazoid! movie. Just seeing the goofy 4th wall-breaking of Deadpool working so well, really made me want a Freakazoid! feature film lol.

Edit: Oooh, another good one for R-Rated properties would an adaptation of Alan Moore's run of Miracle Man. Would love to see that.

Sandman. NO contest.

It's not funny though so that might be an issue. In the wrong hands and with the wrong budget it could just end up like the latest fantasy flop.

Yeah this would have to be a series that no television company could afford to produce

spoiler from Deadpool:

the scene he is going to rescue Vanessa with Colossus and Negassonic he forget all his guns in the cab. It was going to be a huge shootout and he was supposed to use them

Man I knew something was up, I openly complained about how none of that made sense.

Whelp, it's good now though.

Finally saw this movie. I'm going to have to go against the grain here.

Thought it was all shock value and little substance. The best parts of the movie were when it took pace and comedic timing into considering and gave the audience a little room to breath between jokes so that they hit harder. Those rare parts where Wade's jokes actually felt naturally placed.
The rest of the movie was not so much a movie and more of a contrived comedian's set for the evening, with the writers sitting directly behind the screen making awkward and prolonged eye contact with the audience at all times. There were no real characters in this, just marionettes dancing on a stage. I dont feel like I got to know any of them, I just feel like I listened to a writer tell me all his best testicle jokes in preparation for his attempt at The Aristocrats. Every character was just another puppet on the same writer's hand, while he laughs at his own jokes and desperately watches your laughs for approval.

I definitely had more than a few legitimate laughs though and the movie was indeed quite entertaining in its own way. But not in a storytelling sort of way, not for enjoyment of the characters, more like going to the Laugh Factory to see some jackass make a fool of himself while they overcharge you for drinks.

Memepool is empty calories in a way that gives Transformers a real run for its money and I think for some people their sugar-high will eventually wear off. Though first impressions are what count so maybe not.

I'm legitimately happy for it's success though because I think it may lead to a little more variety and chance-taking in Hollywood. I may even see the second one because sometimes youre just in the mood for a trashy snack.

Wow, that's why that happened? It was a bummer for sure but I they made it seem like that was the plan all along, they handled that extremely well.

Even if the humor couldn't carry the subpar structure and light plot for you, you had an altogether moderately positive experience?

This movie rocks so hard.

I'm actually glad this happened so we got more taxi driver goodness.

I'll put it this way. It's by no means a good movie in my book, in fact it might be one of the worst movies I've seen in a long while. But at least it managed to make me a laugh a bunch of times. I'm still pretty disappointed in it and I think I cringed just as many times as I laughed, but I'm not going to be a jackass and claim I didn't laugh. Because lets be honest, I did. Pretty hard a couple times.

Plus seeing some Colossus action was very satisfying since I like that dude but he doesn't get that much attention. But above all else, this movies greatest victory was simply not being Xmen Origins.

Then they handled that so well. It works perfectly in the story, since it ties back to the beginning of the movie

Oh so do the shady experiments in this movie have anything to do with the Weapon X program? I thought it did at first but then I think I remember the baddie stating that it didn't and was some sort of criminal organization instead. Did they just drop that whole storyline? Any light to be shed on the origins of this organization?

Also it's weird that original timeline Wade Wilson was born around 1950, but the timeline didn't change until 1973. Meaning Wade in this movie should still be about 66 years old. But clearly that isn't true anymore. I already knew Fox was playing their rebooted timeline fast and loose with issues from the start, so add that to the list.

Saw it today and it was alright. I expected a lot more seeing all the positive reviews. It was solid though and looking forward to the next being fleshed out a bit more.

Ajax never sheds light on what the program he's working on is. However, while they don't name it, I think the implication is pretty clear that the mutant program in the movie is Weapon X, an offshoot of Weapon X, or another Weapon Plus program.

http://www.boxofficemojo.com/alltime/days/f-th.htm?page=Mon&p=.htm

This is a list of the largest Monday grosses. It's a bit difficult to compare the percentage drop from Sunday to other films since Sunday was Valentine's Day and yesterday was the President's Day Holiday. If we compare it to the drops of other films this year, we see that it held noticeably better than Zoolander 2 and The Revenant, which is a good sign.

Sorry my chimichanga fell on the ground and i heard faint noise comparing it to transformers..what the hell did i just read?

$150 million, wow. So well deserved. Strictly in terms of personal enjoyment, Deadpool is in the same league as Mad Max and The Force Awakens for me. I haven't laughed so hard and so often at a movie in years.

I went on monday with my wife at 4:45 in the afternoon. The theater was more than halfway full. That's a good draw for 4:45 in the afternoon on a monday.
