Hmm. This is starting to worry me. I'm all for easter eggs, don't get me wrong. And it's about time we got to see Deadpool on the big screen. HOWEVER, with Gambit, Deadpool, and probably others I'm worried this is going to turn into a superhero grabfest. THE MOVIE IS ABOUT WOLVERINE, I don't need these second rate characters fucking up my goddamn movie.

Deadpool fits perfectly in the movie since it's Wolverine's early days and they were both in Weapon-X. Gambit should GTFO though, he has no place in the movie and if he shows up it won't make sense.

Uhh.. Wolverine is the most overrated and overused character in the Marvel universe. He ruined the X-men movies by being the center piece in all three... well he didn't ruin them because they were great but they would've been even better if he wasn't such a central character. So many other superheroes are more interesting than Wolverine... how many times have we heard his story? He's overused

Reynolds has wanted to play Deadpool for a long time. I remember him talking about it in interviews for a while now. (Example)

This sounds like a great cameo, so I'm dieing to see it come to life. On a side note... WATCH IT!

From Amazon: "The Nines consists of three short films, each featuring the same actors in different — and sometimes overlapping — roles. Together, three stories form a single narrative that explores the relationships between author and character, actor and role, creator and creation. Alternately funny and unsettling, The Nines is like a riddle where the answer is the question: "How does it all add up?" "The Prisoner" tells the story of a troubled television star (Reynolds) who finds himself under house arrest, with his chipper publicist (McCarthy) and his disillusioned next-door neighbor (Davis) providing his only links to the outside world. Mysterious events lead him to question whether one or more of the women are deceiving him about the nature of his incarceration. "Reality Television" is a half-hour episode of "Behind the Screen," a Project Greenlight-style documentary series tracking the process of creating a network television drama. "Knowing" finds an acclaimed videogame designer (Reynolds) and his wife (McCarthy) facing car trouble deep in the woods. Their daughter (Elle Fanning) uncovers information which leads to a difficult and irrevocable choice."

I promise it's definitely not what you think it's going to be like at all.
that's not good because I thought it was going to be an interesting movie. Saw it at Hollywood but didn't have time to rent another movie (i.e. time to watch said movie). This coming weekend, though, I'll be getting it.

I think just posting "please quote my avatar" would have been more effective.
he must have a rotating avatar because I see the G.A.M.E. avatar:

shit, double post.

It was "Founding member of the Wolverine Defense Force" when I posted that. I thought the mods locked as that too, but I guess not.

edit: That's odd. He's got the WDF avatar inside the thread, but copying and pasting his avatar link shows the one you've posted. Cleared cache and refreshed multiple times, but it only shows "Founding member of Wolverine Defense Force".

I didn't mean it that way. It's definitely an interesting movie, but it still won't be like what you expect. There's just no way to expect what happens/is happening. What I do mean is that it won't really be like The Number 23, as externally and even from the trailer they seem to share some plotlines but that's really not the case.

well, I've always had problems with avatars on GAF. For example, I can't see any of the mods/admins avatars and when I can see them it's an avatar from years ago (see: the Canadian flag avatar of Bishes). This odd occurrence follows me from computer to computer - even school computers that are wiped every time they're restarted - so it's not a cache thing.

I know, just a little tongue-in-cheek. :)

Yeah why put a character connected to the weapon X storyline in a Wolvie movie??? I need samurais, cowboys and him climbing a mountain!

Since when is Gambit in this movie?

Ryan Reynolds is a perfect Deadpool. I'm fucking down for this.

isn't reynolds that guy from that shitty national lampoon movie?

Van Wilder shitty? More like the only good National Lampoon movie in the past...

Long fucking time.

i think ryan reynolds is pretty talented, but he's not getting a lot of interesting roles. .

How is Deadpool not an interesting role?! wtf.

Having seen Reynolds in Blade 3, this is actually pretty good, no, real good casting.

Hell, Reynolds was pretty much the only decent thing about Blade 3

i hope this spins off into a Deadpool movie.

I would so be there day ASAP.

But good choice. And may actually see this movie now.

I'd be game for a Deadpool movie as long as it has a decent budget.. and doesn't get the normal spin-off treatment

Yep. I haven't seen casting this perfect since Patrick Stewart was made Prof. X. I remember when I was little Wizard had Stewart in their fake movie section for X-men like twice, then ten years later it really happens. I've said always said RR would make a perfect Deadpool, but I don't read Wizard anymore so I wonder if they had the same idea (if they still do the fake movie casting thing).

Great choice, Reynolds is pretty hot too:lol Good actor too and fits the part might I add....but more so hot. Shame he seems like a pretty talented actor but just doesn't get the roles.
So I'm definitely intrigued more now

No, you've misunderstood. I can totally see Deadpool in this movie. I think Deadpool is going to be awesome. I'm just saying that I don't want this thing turning into Spider-Man 3.

They haven't confirmed it but it's been a rumour for a long time. The character is up at IMDB under the cast list.

Yes, it has been locked, but I've found a way to thwart them and have my real avatar flash every once and a while. One day I will find a permanent solution... I will rise against the machines to stop Judgement Day!!!!!!

Day 1. Deadpool's my favorite comic book character and Ryan Reynolds fits him pretty well. There better be fireworks between him and Wolvie.

Can't be said enough, Deadpool rules, Ryan Reynolds is the perfect cast, now wheres the announcement for the Deadpool stand alone movie?

I'm surprised GAF is endorsing the B celebrity Dane Cook wannabe.
He's not a Dane Cook wannabe at all. His first few roles in TV / Movies were comedy but he's since expanded quite a bit into more serious roles in films like The Nines.

Those deadpool strips are the real deal. He's actually that cool. And this is awesome casting. I love deadpool. Have those issues done by Ed Mcguinnes. Awesome.

except for that one scene with the dog uh, creme, it was funny yeah. First time I ever gagged at a movie.

:lol :lol

That part was great.

Are these Deadpool comic pages real? Are they actually written like that or are the photoshopped?

100% real.

ProfessorLobo said:

What? Ryan Reynolds was in Van Wilder in like 2002. He kind of came before Dane.

Is there a Deadpool graphic novel or trade you guys can recommend if I don't know shit about him but I really like the panels I'm seeing posted here?

Green Shinobi said:
No, different movie. He's in the excellent National Lampoon movie called Van Wilder.

What the hell is your problem? That movie blows and for the last twenty years National Lampoon blows. I guess this is the only movie I've seen that Reynolds character in though. Can someone recommend a movie in which I don't want to punch him in the face?

The whole movie is great and a major reason I like Reynolds with the other being Two Guys, a Girl, and a Pizza place. Good show for the first few seasons but then got weird fast.
