Fire Emblem Fates Releases in NA Feb. 19th; $80 Special Edition Announced

When the Animal Crossing XL Bundle launched, I preordered one for in-store pickup, got the notice that it was ready for pickup, and when I got there, they couldn't find it.

I waited at the counter for 30 mins, and as a last ditch effort, the supervisor started checking desks, and found it hidden under the manager's desk. They apologized and promised the manager would be repremanded. No discount or anything for my wasted time.

It was such an awkward and unprofessional experience, that I've never bought from Fry's again.

Went to Best Buy this morning when they opened. I figured i got to at least try. They had 3 copies, all pre-orders... i could see them behind the counter, i guess thats as close as i am ever gonna get to a copy of the SE. At least i got to see it with my own 2 eyes....

My guess is that some stores had perhaps one or two extras, but the eBay orders came in faster than the inventory system could track them? And cancellations were sent out because they got more reservations than extras? But who knows for sure. I hope some people got in.
 
Man, the updating shipping trick did boot my order back into "preparing", but it's now been an hour and no changes. Now I'm worried I only succeeded in booting myself lower in priority or something...
 
Just got charged for mine. I'm feeling a little better now.

Edit. I did the change shipping thing with Best Buy. It went from preordered to we have your order or whatevs.

The first people who changed their shipping are now getting notifications that their order has shipped, so I would just be patient. It's possible that BB just got the SEs today.

Wait, this game is rare? I just left a Target and they had tons. I want the game but figured I would wait until I finished up a few games. I guess I'm heading back out then.......

this is why I hate these scalpers..

I wanted one copy of this edition and because amazon couldn't set the same restriction to the later SE (like the bravely second CE, only 1 item per account) I got screwed by all these scalpers.

no one should order more than one in these LEs, they are extremely limited
 
Well, I tried the update shipping trick, and I'm in Preparing now too. Sounds like Best Buy's doing the best they can, this is looking more and more like a Nintendo issue causing the problems.
 
Man, reading the last couple of posts really gives me flashbacks to Wave 4 of Amiibo.

I appreciate the posts from Fry's and Best Buy peeps (wish the best to those trying to secure an SE in the wild today) but when some Amazon folks start getting their shipments, posts highlighting whether it came in a bubble envelope or box would be appreciated.

I don't think I can handle another SE ruined by a bubble mailer. :(

How would this be a Nintendo issue? It's clearly a Best Buy issue. So magically they "found" your copy just because you changed shipping?

Ordered my Special Edition from Amazon way back in November and while it says it's shipping today (Feb. 19th), it won't reach my Post Office till the 25-26th. Although that was always the two dates they had pegged this whole time. I'll see what happens though...

I should add I haven't been charged nor got a shipping confirmation email yet.....

At the moment it just seems to be an issue with Best Buy's online orders. In-store got them days ago, so did every other retailer online and in-store.

The mass emails even went out close to midnight PST so it was as if the system was scheduled to send delay shipments to orders not fullfilled up to that moment (since they were fullfilling them during the day) but they forgot to change the March 14 date which falls under the average "up to 30 days max. delay".

Nintendo's issue was more related to their Friday releases which sometimes cause problems with retailers. But in this case it seems they might've shipped a bit more than their estimates, which is actually normal in this cases, so is not as if they sabotaged best Buy or anything.

Yup mine came yesterday in bubble mailer also, most of the right side of my box was crushed, everything inside was fine though. Amazon had been on a roll of not messing up my items in bubble mail too :(
 
Got Best Buy eBay cancellation emails on both my orders (1 store pickup 1 shipped) between 950-10am CST. Oh well, expected. Hopefully that Amazon order I placed when it was "live" for 30 mins last night comes thru.

Edit - but they've only refunded me for one of them so far...

Double edit - my BBebay shipping order is actually still live. For some reason they had to send 4 damn emails telling me the store pickup one was cancelled lol
 
I pre ordered the Collector's Edition November 16th, and have it completely paid off. Gamestop's site shows it's ready for pick up, and I'm stuck at work for another 7 hours. Worse case scenario of my pre order being sold or cancelled is looming over my head. I really need to get off this thread, and think positive lol!
 
Went to my Best Buy to pick mine up; no problems at all.

I like how the boxart is reversible for the Special Edition 3DS game case. Very nice!

That'll give GameStop time to gut it and play a bit over lunch. ;-0


No worries though, they can slap some tape and GameStop stickers on there, re-shrink it and will be good as new.

They hold them for 48 hours. If you're worried you could call them to make sure.

When I preordered Xenoblade X, I preordered instore and online with store pickup which was free just in case. And both were in the store waiting hours later despite even them assuming it was a mistake (since they knew who I was even, do they knew I wasn't picking two).
