That would be ideal for people who got shafted, but I don't see Nintendo doing much of anything. This sort of thing has happened before and they don't really care. :(
 
Hmm, Conquest or Birthright first? Feel like I should start with Birthright otherwise I'd never go back to the easier content if I started with Conquest.

It might be possible to contact customer service, put in a complaint and maybe get bumped up to expedited or get some store credit or something. It is pretty BS, but I should have expected this to be a clusterfuck launch giving Nintendo LE history. Still, at least some of this seems to be on Best Buy.

Called the GameStop I preordered at and they confirmed my copy was there and waiting to be picked up. I normally would have went through Best Buy for GCU, but I'm really glad I missed the chance to preorder from them after reading through this.

I'm going Birthright first for pretty much that reason. It would be weird for me to go back to Awakening style combat and EXP grinding after doing classic FE stuff.
 
My sister went and camped out at the Chicagoland Fry's and successfully got one of the six copies they had. That would have sucked if she waited for hours and didn't get it.

I'm not sorry about my BB order. Picked mine up an hour ago, no problem. $64 with GCU.

Advice for smooth BB orders: (1) choose ship to store for pickup, and (2) NEVER make changes to an order except to cancel.

My order no longer says that the payment is waiting on authorization.

Order status says "Your order has been received."

I didn't change any address or anything.

When did you get that? Most of us got that early this morning, and BBuy support have since said that's an error and to wait for more info. We'll have to see.
 
Are people having problems with Best Buy? My Amazon order says its preparing shipment and will ship the 24th and be here the 26th and I have been charged. I chose free shipping and did not have prime at the time. I should be in the clear right?

Correct advice. Best Buy systems get all janky when you make changes to your order.

Went to pick up my preorder in store at Best Buy. I preordered the day it went up, but they just hadn't received it at all. They told me the 3/14 date might just be a placeholder until they can figure out what's going on, but I just bit the bullet and bought a copy of Birthright.
I took a vacation day just to play so I'm not going to just sit at home and sulk!
 
Ordered on eBay via Best Buy for in-store pick up yesterday at 10:43pm PT. Just received an email that my order is ready for pick up! Guess I'll swing by and grab it during my lunch. I'm debating whether or not I should even try to return and rebuy with GCU, since that will save me $10.

Ask for them to process your GCU when you pickup. They should be able to do it right there for you.

Meanwhile, I ordered minutes after it went up on their site and still not shipped. If this ain't unfair I dunno what is anymore
 
Bestbuy on Geary (San Francisco) only has enough copies for preorders. Birthright and Conquest are even sold out :lol

nm, copies available at the front where store pickups are. Just ask for one.

My Amazon CE order just required my attention to approve a delay in shipping until sometime in March. That's nice to see on the day of release =p

Anyone else get this notification for their amazon order?

If it really is delayed then I may just buy it digitally and sell the CE if\when I ever get it.
 
My order has finally moved from "Preordered" and now says "Order has been received"

Glad to see some movement. I went out earlier and bought Birthright and Conquest individually but maybe I'll wait a bit before opening them.
 
Checked my bank account when I first woke up and nothing (only Mega Man charge).

Just checked again right now because of all the other reports and my debit card has now indeed also been charged for Fire Emblem. Yay.
 
Got a notification from best buy about the delay, but my order has moved from processing to preparing to ship, so hopefully that's a good sign?
 
I called bestbuy support. Mine now went from preorder to in progress with my card charged. It is still in the processing stage though. The lady said they had ample supply though which is a good thing.

Yes, same here.

Though now it's giving me an indefinite shipping date, so I assume I'm never getting a copy.
 
It now says "Status: Your order has been received" and it seems they charged my card, which means they are about to ship. They better be compensating for this bullshit.
 
My Best Buy SE order just changed from Pre-ordered to Preparing your item for shipping. I even go the delay email yesterday.

Don't change any order details people!

Why would you want compensation? When you ordered you ordered release day shipping which is not release day delivery.
