Gears of War Ultimate Edition PC Specs Leaked

The GPU and RAM requirements are baffling to me.

You have not been paying attention, at all.
See Rise of the Tomb Raider or Need For Speed 2015 which also "recommend" a 970.
The Division also.

It's certainly not uncommon nowadays and it can absolutely be justified, with the right targets.

PC game comes out with low requirements = consoles are holding us back!

PC game comes out with high requirements = un-optimized POS !

Why I hate the PC community. (I was a huge PC gamer)

The low end requirements are very reasonable for a game with these graphics.

That's exactly it.

God I hope you're joking, lol.

Rise of the Tomb Raider doesn't bring 980 Ti's and Titan's to their knees because it's a game with pretty good graphics that ran fine on the Xbox One that is badly "optimized".

I'm pretty sure you're a PC gamer too...some. Come on people.

As others have said, this is a rather embarrassing thread. It's absolutely possible that they're pushing the PC build to some insane levels.

4k textures, over 1080p+ (up to 4k or more), 60GB of assets, much higher shadow quality, (60fps instead of 30), advanced AA options, etc, etc. All of that and more is possible. They even included 4k recommendations guys.

Not to mention that minimum and recommended specs are often nonsense anyway, and the proof is always in the pudding. I'm guessing they'll probably release this during the MS event on thursday, when they do people can just see impressions of how demanding it is / isn't.

Way to generalize.

Nothing unreasonable about the min specs. RAM is cheap and more and more games have been taking advantage of it over 8GB. People whining just to whine, and even saying they don't care? Yeah ok for one that's disrespectful to game developers and two why would they want to intentionally sabotage their own game thus limiting sales...

Not sure if anyone cares about min spec when recommended spec is tagged for 1080p.

I am not mad about the specs (although all signs point to a shit port at the moment, you shouldnt need a 970 and 16GB RAM to 1080p an Xbox1 game) I am mostly sad about this being Win 10 store only.

I really wanted the MP on this to have some legs. And not being on Steam is a death knell for that.

MINIMUM SYSTEM REQUIREMENTS

OS: 64 bit Windows 10 – version 1511
Processor: Intel Core i5 @ 2.7Ghz or AMD FX 6-core
Memory: 8 GB RAM (2 GB VRAM)
Graphics: Geforce GTX 650 Ti or Radeon R7 260x
Hard Drive: 60 GB available space
DirectX 12

wait wait. I have to have Windows 10? wtf?

Those minimum specs seem quite high as well, don't think my good old laptop will be able to run this. That's too bad, would've liked to be able to play this again.

16gb ram and 60gb hdd space get the fuck outta here

Are people really that surprised? The days of 20GB HDD and 4GB RAM games are over.

Either upgrade or stay behind.

Also who doesn't have at least 2-4TB of storage? And it was inevitable that requirements would hit at least 12GB of RAM or higher this gen. As 8GB has been the norm for a while now.

All signs = released specs?

I love all the people completely ignoring the fact that those are the recommended specs and gasping like a 970 is super expensive lol.
Also, people still don't understand that MS first party games going to PC are going to be W10 only on the Windows store?

This will actually play very well w/ a gamepad because of its slower pace. I remember wrecking kb/m players in Blacklist SvM with a 360 pad. CS:GO/TF2 on the other hand...

Why do these games need 16GB of RAM? I got 12gb and 6gb in my gpu. That should be more then enough for 1440p

A layman's guess seeing Fable Legends go from console to PC. Straight port from console to PC see's loading assets a bit of a problem once they hit the PC architecture (studdering, framerate drops). Since the consoles have less but faster ram, you have to carefully manage how assets are loaded into the slower PC ram, OR, you just load it all in and not worry about it. To do it like the latter, it takes more system ram, former takes more modifications to the code base (defeating the whole code once, put on all platforms MS has been aiming for)

I could be way the fuck off though :p

I don't see much wrong with the specs...I mean they are not that much different from other recent high profile games.

Also, anyone who has been playing PC games for a while now should know that you should be okay playing theae games evev if you comp doesn't meet whats listed.

Shit I have a 680 gtx 2GB, and I played division fine on PC (yes every game is different). I just don't get the surprised responses.

I meant recommended. They are fine and within reason in 2016. We don't know what additional settings and effects They added to the PC version.

Now if it turns out nothing was added ok, then riot. Until that happens...
