Isn't there a worse option select in terms of being more powerful anyway for chun-li of block, throw tech, or ex sbk? I might be off I read of it on Reddit and did not investigate properly yet.

Nah dude it's easy to tell the difference. These are people who either quit right before the KO or when the KO happens. All Capcom would have to do is make it so you don't disconnect from the match when someone pulls the plug. The problem is how does the game know if someone disconnected intentionally or just by losing the connection? I think if it happens when the KO happens or soon before the game should recognize that and give the non quitter the win. Just don't know exactly how you'd implement that.

How did KI do it?

maybe they can account for the other player having a win?

so have some protection in there where if it is the first round, or its the second round and the disconnector is the one who won the first round, then there is no penalty?

that would avoid at least a nice % of false positives

3) remove Necalli from the game

that isn't too much to ask, is it?

Many many many of the disconnects you're seeing aren't ragequits, it's people being being D/C'd by the servers.

dude when you body someone and on the final hit of round 2 they DC, they rage quit, theres no way in hell its a coincidence

welcome to the HRAP4 army

Thanks, still need to look up moves for other characters. Still playing them blind. I was testing out the stick online with Ryu and it was pretty smooth. Felt real good to beat a Rashid guy who had a 4 win streak.

I mentioned it before but I still think punishing rage quits is not the way to go. It will only punish genuine disconnects. Instead just make it benefit the player who stuck around. Give them the LP for the round and that's that. Onto the next one. Maybe the only punishment is to make the person who quits lose their streak if they have one but even that's gotta suck if it was a real disconnect. Not that win streaks actually mean anything.

Maybe it's just me but as long as I get my points I don't give a shit. It's occasionally annoying not to be able to finish someone off or a direct post game rage quit but giving me the points will solve it.

you know your vega is starting to become pretty fucking serious when you get a rage rage quit every 5 games

When do people tend to go online after learning a new character, and I mean like new to SF5, ala Laura or someone like that.

I've been trying Laura and I'm just getting bodied by Ryus and Bisons one after the other.

Not getting back to Silver rank because of 2-3 rage quitters makes me seriously so salty. Once I get back to Silver fuck this game online until Capcom deals with this bullshit.

How many LP to be silver right now? I find the leaderboards cumbersome to search thought to find the cutoff.

One helpful tip about LP I try to keep in mind at all times (sometimes I fail, true): It literally doesn't matter except in your head.

Also, I've gotten disconnected right before I lost, as the second round was already over. It 100% would've looked like a RQ. You never know! (but probably people are RQing left and right)

I like to know the basics of a character first: good buttons, what to anti air with, punish combos, etc. Either by looking them up or practicing a little myself.

Once I'm comfortable with that sort of stuff in training, I'll start using the character with my friends to get real game experience. If you don't have a local friends option, ask people here around your skill level to play.

Also, you shouldn't try to avoid getting bodied. Just keep grinding it out, the losses suck but they are important, so just jump into casual matches and keep experimenting

I mean in theory yes you are right but it is the tangible/visual form of progress of your skill in the game. And right now it's fucked because of people cheating the system and that sucks. At the end of the day yes playing and your skill in game is always what matters but it's just weak when you don't get any credit for it when someone rage quits.

Maybe we should put together a thread of things that we feel would benefit the game but Capcom overlooked. We all want it to be better right? Perhaps a good list would help?

1) Rage Quit Solution
2) Online Ranking on a Per Character Basis Instead of Overall CFN Basis
3) Fight Money Matches
4) Best 2 out of 3 sets for Ranked Super Silver (or start at Silver?) Rank and Above?

Stuff like that. =x

Can any Karin players out there give me some advice? I just started playing yesterday, and here is one my later matches online. I've been doing well in ranked matches, like 15 wins and 5 losses but it mostly seems I'm winning because people aren't accustomed to Karin's gimmicks. I am in the player in Red. Thanks.

You need to be more calm in your play. You're doing stuff like throwing out random Ressenhas to get in or counter folks which works when you're starting out but as you get higher in ranks, it becomes a huge liability because more experienced players will punish it. Instead, walk up and try to land a button to pressure your opponent, jump when you have an opening to do it safely, and make sure what you're doing on offense isn't unsafe because enemies will counterattack you and get their damage that way.

When in close use crouch mp and then standing mp for a frame trap instead of using crouch mk. That'll let you build an offense on the ground.

I like everything in your list except "Online Ranking on a Per Character Basis Instead of Overall CFN Basis".

That's really dangerous and allows for some serious smurfing. Maybe have leaderboards work that way, but not the true matchmaking algorithm.

How are you supposed to react to Dhalsim's teleports? I basically get hit every single time.

If you think they are about to teleport, throw out a jab. If they do teleport the jab will catch them and knock him out of the air.

If they don't teleport then its not much of a risk to you since Sim is usually far enough that they don't have a move fast enough to punish a whiffed jab.

I'm for letting the throw OS rock.

Was a matter of time before an OS was discovered anyways. Actually, didn't Ultradavid find this OS in one of the betas? Or was that a different v-reversal OS?

It actually happened to me right as the servers were going down for maintenance.

just because it happened legitimally you think that means most cases we are reporting arent? I guess its also a coincidence that most of the rage quitters are on long win streaks?

come on son! :p

I love the faith you have in humanity. lol
My game did it twice today, lol. Maybeshow dc % or punish repeats. I'm glad it's not implemented yet because ive had 5 or 6 dcs and i dont rq. Maybe some people are quitting if There's a ton of lag? I probably should have a few times because it was like playing MKX with all of the teloporting that was happening . I still have faith, for now....

I haven't touched rank in days and probably won't until they find a solution for all the rage quits. Just playing casual and lobby matches. Lost to many points to salty players.

I am basically only playing battle lounge. More satisfying and fun.

Man Survival would at least be a bit more enjoyable if you at least got to keep the V-gauge you over matches. But you don't and because of that you like jever get to use V stuff. Which is like the major new thing about SFV.

So dumb.

tried a bit of karin. looked like people didn't know how to fight her, even with my basic play. even got a ryu to ragequit in casuals, ugh. i'll keep her for fun on the side.

And honest. I did a FT3, was down 0-2 and lost the first round against some scrubby dude from overseas (it usually takes me a while to adjust to latency). Decided I had seen all he had to offer and went 3-0.
