I know I'm late, maybe someone already posted this sentiment, but this post is insane.
There is no way on god's green earth that the US will sell the same amount of copies as the UK. UK is like 60 million people, US is what, 320 milion?
Consider: UK sales are physical only.
UK is NOT all of Europe.
You didn't account for Steam's units sold.
USA will definitely outsell UK at least 5:1.
Napkin math: Let's say 80k units in UK, counting digital (seems conservative but alright). That's 400k in the US. Let's say the rest of Europe sold about 100k units. We're looking at at least 500k-600k units sold this Month.
That's fine. Capcom released an unfinished game, they knew it, and so did everyone else. What matters is: the foundation is incredible. Word of mouth and an online scene will keep this game alive, content updates will keep it in the news, and it will have a long tail. Also, it will have a cash shop next month. Also, I'm pretty sure Sony footed a bunch of the money, and this was made on a smaller team than SF4 (I could be wrong on that one).
There is really no cause for alarm. Not yet, anyway.
I updated it later to reflect the 500k as well.
