Street Fighter V |OT2| Another Fight Isn't Coming Your Way!

Yesterday SFV was such an easy game to play.
Now I need a place to hide away....

Basically old Owl is jobbing like a enhancement talent today, I miss my inexplicable streak from yesterday, still fun though.

Edit: hang on there's life in me yet! obviously this post helped.

Last Saturday I was at a friend's house. His friend (who I'm starting to become friends with) starts playing me in Street Fighter. My Nash vs his Laura. We go back and forth on who's winning for a bit. He was surprisingly good considering this was his first go at V and I'm still feeling out Nash. Then for whatever reason he starts really beating my shit. He says that Laura is Nash's counter (I kind of rolled my eyes at that one). This goes on for a bit before I really get the feel for Nash and his zoning abilities. I start punishing the shit out of him. I've got an answer for everything he comes up with. Then he starts complaining and saying that there's nothing he can do and that Nash is OP and stuff like that. I didn't say a word.

Felt good.

Did you get his number? Sounds like a bromance in the making

That moment when you think you've been making progress, then you run into someone who is in your head for every decision, and you revert to playing like ass.

holt shit just actually raged (not rage quit) for the first time for losing to the scrubiest ryu, and then said to myself "you should stop now". I didnt stop, and of course lost the next match also, to a even scrubier ryu lol.

dont play while mad gents, its pointless :)

Does Ken's hurtbox disappear when he does an air tatsu or what? I even delay my cr.MP to use it as an AA and he doesn't get hit, but my brain thinks, logically, that it'd hit, so I dash forward in anticipation to keep the pressure going, but since I didn't hit shit, I eat a mashed EX DP...

oh my god, i know this feeling. Get a nice small run going, start feeling good, start thinking that things have clicked in your mind, and then you run into that one person who runs circles around you and blows you up.

After a week me and my friends still can't play together (UK). It's the first time I've managed to convince them to get a fighting game and now I just look like a dick as they feel like they've wasted their money and are already considering trading the game. So diasapointing

Too late. I went super bronze 1100 to bronze 900 to bronze 830.

"Found this video where someone glitched the game to fight in the Character Select screen."

Galactus needs to pop up in the background and this has to become canon.

I wound up smoking last night and then went on a crazy win streak, haha. Before that I was just getting bodied. This game is so good though.

Even achievements are kinda wonky in this game .. just got the achievement for my 30th ranked match, and my log alone contains at least 50 ranked matches (with a number of matches not being recorded).

I think it's ranked match wins actually...

I am just going to ask one more time to see if anyone else has a different opinion. I am not very good at this game. First fighting game. Have gotten better by watching a lot of videos, but no where near good. I have been playing casual. Should I go in and play ranked? Or is casual the place to stay until I get, quote on quote "good."

people need to check their ISPs tbh, my problem was on my end, sicne I fixd it with my ISP I can do lounges and get matches every 30 secs

What did you tell them by chance? Like how does that conversation go?

^I say stick with casual, therrs a bunch of people on rank who swear the Lp actually mean anything so they go and rage quit and what not. Unless you're looking for something where it's a little more high stakes cause people care so much for the points I guess then pick ranked.

game still runs like shit for me. 5 bars and FUCKING TELEPORTS

I AM BEYOUND FUCKING MAD. I am considering selling my stick because I am fed up with this fucking shit servers.

Let the SFV server team know of any issues you have:
http://twitter.com/sfvserver

Personally, online has been good for me. Waits are generally quick, loading is generally quick. I've had several battle lounge matches. But, if your experiences are different, let them know.

I don't have a Twitter account (shocking, I know), but judging by the comments there it seems that plenty of other people are having the same issue, so hopefully they'll get around to fixing it at some point. Not holding by breath though.

Otherwise online is working fine for me now, getting ranked matches every few minutes with fight requests on. A huge improvement over last week when I had to wait +20 minutes between matches.

I don't think there's much point to holding off on ranked. There's nothing to lose, your LP will never be lower than it is right now. And it has the side benefit of slowly matching you against better players in the long term. Mainly I'd do it just so you could search for both casual and ranked matches so you are likely to find matches faster when you want to play.

Just asking what's your NAT? Do you think it could be packet loss? Do you think you're playing against Alt+Tabbers?

40 fights today and all smooth. It has nothing to do with the servers as it hands off to P2P for a match, it sounds like something your end if it that's frequent.

Have you got manual match confirmation on? That shows the bars more accurately before deciding to fight.

What exactly did you do? Change from IPv6 to IPv4 or something?

in my case, my router has something called a "game mode", which I initially was afraid of because I assumed all it was doing was opening all the ports, but apparently not because I checked my ports with dr.dogg and we came to the conclusion that not very many were open in fact. Im not sure exactly what its doing, but it worked (its also a known issue with my ISP here in portugal, people have problems with Fifa, Mario Kart, etc)

Im not saying Capcom isnt at fault, they clearly are, but if you can do something to remedy it on your end, its worth it.

If you don't care about points, rank is fine, u will find stronger players there though.

That is a good point. Never really thought of it like that.

Does losing ranked make it harder in the long run to rank up?

It's something on your end.

Nope.
