Virginia Beach went Trump today (which isn't a complete shock, I saw lots of signs for him, and none for Rubio), and he would probably win the city in the general (Virginia Beach is one of the most Republican leaning cities in the country due to the military presence), but yeah, he would get slaughtered in the state as a whole.
NOVA and Norfolk would be complete bloodbaths against Trump.
Gotta keep that narrative strong, no matter the facts!
Military seems like an area of the GOP most likely to have a big chunk of the 20% stayhom/5% Clinton protest group.

I hate this line of thinking - it assumes that white northern liberals are the 'real' Democrats, and the predominantly African American voters in the Southern states aren't. Southern Democrats get just as much input as to their nominee as the northern ones, and voters in the South just aren't feeling the bern.
