Part of me wonders if HAL has a whole bunch of Kirby games just sitting on the backburner lately now that they're back in the swing of things with his mainline games. Triple Deluxe and Robobo Planet both had a really short turnaround from announcement to release. I can just see Nintendo going up to HAL like

"hey we need a game for 2016, we're kinda light"
"well what about the one where we rip on gundam"
"sure whatever as long as we can sell amiibos"

HAL once again steals the show. I was literally just saying i miss the Smash and UFO powers not too long ago and both are in this game.

Not to mention the mech gimmick looks far better than the fruit from Triple Deluxe. Not that TD was a bad game i just didnt care for that.

Its likely due to the engine used for Return to Dreamland and Triple Deluxe being easy to work with, so generating new games takes a very short time.

The reason Return to Dreamland took so long to come out (originating as Kirby GC 2005) is because they re-worked and re-built the game three times before being happy with what we got with Return to Dreamland.

Triple Deluxe was perhaps my most favorite Kirby game ever (sorry SuperStar fans), so I love that they're building on its framework with a good idea like mechs (and a nature vs technology bent that I'm surprised the Kirby series hasn't done yet).

Love it when games do that (look at my avatar ), so Kirby trying that now is really cool. Triple Deluxe is one of the best looking 3DS games (next to the 3D Zelda Remakes, Smash, and Kid Icarus), so Robobo Planet looking great isn't a shocker either .

I really hope this game is more like Return to Dreamland and less like Triple Deluxe.

I absolutely loved the first but was not impressed by the latter, and to be honest, I'm still trying to put my finger on why...

Are you sure this isn't just the same thing as the Waddle Dee trains in Triple Deluxe that you could derail as Supernova Kirby? I would guess Kirby just decided to hit the Waddle Dees as they drove by because Kirby's a monster.
