Massive ongoing protest in Chicago makes Trump "postpone" his event

Your question was ridiculous by saying I was addressing the neogaf posters so you got an equal answer.

In the post that started this chain, you never said neogaf people or not.

That still doesn't dismiss the point - the majority of the populous, minorities especially, cannot "fall to his level" because his level is beyond their scope and means.

My friend, I suggest you stop digging.

I'm not sure whether I'll vote in this election (I feel like I'd rather not vote than vote without doing adequate research into candidates) but if Trump is the republican nominee in the general election, I'll make sure to vote so I can vote against him. Though it won't matter anyways since Illinois is a blue state anyways

Kirk's seat is still up for grabs.

You can also vote on Senate seats and other positions. There is more to this election than just the presidential seat.

Texas is a deep red state and I don't care, I'm voting against him anyway.

This is one election I am NOT staying out of.

I am absolutely dumbfounded. But I'm glad it's happening. Trump must be stopped, and it must be publicized that he is creating a cavernous, gaping rift in this country.

Props to Chicago taking this stance, Trump has been spreading hate speech and bigotry if people want to stand with a bigot and racist they should go right ahead but they deserved to be called out on it.

This is absurd. Anyone who thinks it's OK to act like this regardless if your stance on Trump, or your views on politics.. You're wrong. Trump's supporters have been idiots and these people are being idiots. When people start punching police officers it goes from protesting to acting like ass clowns. I'm so sick of all his crap, let the guy have his rally, im not fond of the clown but atleast he doesn't give a shit and doesn't need to be purchased by lobbyists.. I don't know.. All these politicians are clowns...

I live in Washington and even though it is going blue 100%, I still wouldn't skip a vote this important. If I didn't vote against Trump, I don't think I could live with myself.

Vote, not just for the presidential, but for the Senate and state levels.

I mean, the main reason I don't vote is because I put off looking into the candidates, and I don't want to vote on party lines alone. It's not because of my vote not mattering (though it almost certainly doesn't)

Then vote for members of Congress and initiatives in your area. The november elections aren't just for presidents, there are many other things of great importance to vote for even if you decide to pass on voting for a president.

Whatever you do: vote. Period.

Real talk. Arguably the Congress elections are more important.

It doesn't matter if Trump's base gets riled up. They are anyhow riled up by racism, xenophobia, hate based on religion etc. What matters is that a sane reaction against the hate speech is the protest. This goes beyond the vote. Protesting against discrimination and hate speech is one of the checks and balances of the democracy. And it pops up when the law can do anything against it.

I remember a few opportunist looters and an overwhelming amount of peaceful protesters getting tear gassed.

I must have missed the "riots".

the ferguson coverage, whatever. its beside the point, she was pissed off at the police response.

Republican GAFers will be here any moment to remind us that it's really Obama's fault and that he refused to reach across the aisle.

The cognitive dissonance our Republican friends display as it pertains to DC never ceases to amaze.

I just don't get the idea of this high-horse bullshit about 'lesser of two evils' like, everyone is a shithead on relative terms.

Everyone may be a shithead, but they are very fucking much NOT equal in their concentration of awfulness.

As I said, the reason I don't vote is generally because I'd rather not vote than vote uninformed and I generally don't have enough of an interest in politics or enough time to properly inform myself. The main reason Trump would be different is because I feel I've seen far more than enough of him to know he'd be an absolute nightmare in office

I think it's been non-violent for the most part. There's always going to be a few assholes who are violent or out to get attention/a thrill. The protest did its job.

this can help out with finding candidates who you agree with on policies and the like.

I have been telling everyone who says they're not voting that there is more than just a presidential election going on this november and THAT is the one that matters, especially in NY where the presidential election has already been decided.

"At least he's not a corporate sponsored racist"

Look man, they're all idiots. And frankly they are all racist. Obama is racist, blacks are racist, white, Mexican. You're all fucking racist. Every single one of you and them. I'm so fucking tired of all this pretend bullshit where people pretend blacks don't make jokes about white people and Mexicans don't joke about blacks and yadda yadda. I don't give a hoot anymore... You're all hypocrites and these politicians are all assholes who put on a show and be politically correct when in their private rooms theyre all just as racist and bigots as the last moron

Man I've never felt as bad for fucking cops than I do watching this stream - http://video.foxnews.com/v/25531934...donald-trump-rally-in-chicago/?#sp=show-clips

Systemic racism in the US police is very real, but god damn that doesn't mean there aren't some good ones left. Some of the protestors are saying just awful things about them, calling him ugly as fuck and making fun of him twitching :/ I have countless reasons why I'd never join the police but man I know I'd break down if I was standing in that line

As for the actual topic of this thread, this is pretty wild and I'm very interested to see what happens in his future rallies. It was only a matter of time with what Trump has been spewing
