Time and again Hillary Clinton is shown to be calculating, cold-hearted, -- even devious. Just like they always said she was! Ain't that right? Just like they always said when she probably was anything but. When she was expected to act in a way that would only be suggested to a man -- praised if he follows the advice, forgiven if he scorns it -- and expect nothing in return: no recognition, no reconsideration. This is how you wear people out, this is how you pry them loose from their principles and ideals. Society almost never fails to summon exceptional women to countersign its prejudices against them all.
I admit I laughed after Hillary, asked to differentiate her term from a hypothetical third Obama term, simply maintained that she's a woman. I think it was during the first debate. That's her only real argument and I'm beginning to consider it a damn good one. You probably don't get to where she is now being both principled and a woman. If she becomes President, she'll be just like the rest of them. And that's the entire point. The criterion for future female candidates will be to rise above the ordinary, not to be immaculate, and for some of them this will mean being more principled than others.
Ideologically I prefer Bernie Sanders. Not that it matters, I have no say, I'm not American. But there are, have been, and can be other male politicians like him. It's not such a simple matter for women who pretty much have to be rare exceptions like Elizabeth Warren. I believe a Clinton presidency can normalize things.
I'd ask people to consider voting for her if she is to be the nominee.
