In the span of five months we get Star Wars episode 7, Batman and Superman fighting on the big screen, and Marvel's Civil War in a movie.

Stop complaining people!! It is fucking heaven for us nerds. Come on, not everything has to be perfect. Did you ever think you'd see those things in your life? Let alone in the span of less than 6 months?

Edit: we also saw a near perfect adaptation of Deadpool. Deadpool! A movie dedicated just to fucking Deadpool!!

I am looking forward to it and yeah Deadpool was just awesome seen it twice.

Yea, I'm really happy we're getting all of these movies. In heaven.

Awesome.

I get your point.

Ghostbusters on the level of this stuff? Not even close.

Star Wars by Lucas was a huge event. He lost that goodwill. Marvel hasn't lost that yet. Maybe Snyder has, but not to the level of Lucas.

Fantastic Four for the nth time just isn't cutting it anymore. I mean that movie is legitimately terrible, doesn't really compare to "I wasn't a fan of the two words of Spider Mans dialogue."

I see the point you were making. But do you even disagree with me? Or did you just want to try to come up with a counter?

I wondered if you were on a "fuck yeah nerd products, I gonna eat them all up" trip, or, well, if you have standards. Dismissing all kinds of criticism left me confused.

I'm sure you see the difference. If Civil War legitimately sucks, obviously I would change my tune.

People watching a trailer for Civil War with 12 movies of buildup, and spider man appearing (which we all see to have forgotten that we had given up hope of ever happening.) and the response is. "An airport, really? Just seems lame to me.

To each their own though. I stand by what I said even if you want to take it to the extreme case.

I just used "extreme" words to get the point across. Wasn't meant personal.

My response was not "An airport, really?" It was it looks bad. The most basic thing a movie should accomplish is showing me and convincing me what is happening and that it is happening. I don't believe they are there. It looks like greenscreen.

That's fine.

Obviously not everyone has to like everything.

I guess I wasn't trying to say that this stuff was above criticism, just that it is so surreal to even have all these movies coming out, that nitpicking random stuff just seems lame. Which this thread is full of.

Obviously if the movie straight looks trash to someone, that's a different case.

Since Star Wars, Hollywood noticed we are a multibillion industry and build their business almost entirely around that. It is not that surprising they would try to appeal to us with brands like Star Wars, Transformers, Spiderman, Batman and Turtles. We grow up on the brands, we keep buying the brands. Capitalism 101. And of course, many are fond of that.

We only have one trailer. Some are euphoric about Spidermans moving eyes, some think the airport scene looks bad. Some maybe both things. Why not.

Considering his speed before, Panther should be in the front of the pack

He's probably doing the "let he pawns go first" thing! BP is probably smarter than the rest of them, and still uncertain to which side he belongs to at that stage of the movie?! I'm thinking by the end of the movie and once his true motive is revealed he's outtie from the #rekteam

Have we seen Paul Rudd out of the Ant Man suit yet? Probably looking at a very small role here, even though we have no clue how he even joined up with these guys yet.

I want to hear dialogue with Him Tony and Steve!

Pretty sure they've shown a scene of him geeking out over Cap/Avengers at a Comic Con panel or something.

Remember the post credits scene in Ant-Man? Probably the follow up to that scene.

I'm doing a re-watch of Avengers EMH (The whole show on DVD for £12, bargain) and it's killing me that I can't see live action Black Panther because I want to go in blind. I came to see if anyone was mentioning BP and the first thing I see is how good he looks. This film needs to hurry up!

I'm not sure they'll ever have a moment as good as the Hawkeye/Antman arrow ride uppercut though.

odds on this having awful filters?

(blue is the default original, no lies, another one they used was an awful yellow in the hulkbuster fight).

Odds on it being a modern movie that uses color correction? 100%

Odds on it iterating on its color correction resulting in differences between trailer and finished film that then become misguided .gif fodder used as further "evidence" the film sucks? Tough to say.

can't get over how cool Black Phanter look in this trailer, whoever behind the costume during action scenes, whether it's Chadwick Bosemen or stunt man. he got the action poses feels so right.

I think you should probably thank a CG animator for those car chase shots.

The filter is better since it makes everything look more like a snow covered forest. Without the filter everything looks more 'warm'.

It's almost as if they should have waited for the versus movie...

I repeat:

Love how remorseful the Avengers looked while they sat around eating Schwarma in the wreckage of New York.

Sarcasm aside, your complaint doesn't make any damn sense. They only JUST started acknowledging the destruction porn nature of their films in Avengers 2. That's 8 years and 10 movies.

DC is doing it in two. WTF are you even on about?

The film isn't even out yet for you to make any inferences the film sucks.

Looks awful to me, especially when you compare them in motion too.

I'm not totally on board the 'caring about destruction' thing if that's what he's talking about. But I absolutely understand the 'we've built up to this' argument.

If it wasn't Batman v Superman that movie would be dead in the water. The fact that I care more about Captain America fighting Iron Man than I care about the two most iconic heroes of all time fighting tells you how important the build up can be.

But if we're just talking the destruction angle, yea, I'm with you.

The original comment was

A friend of mine pointed it out, and it really points out why I'm preferring marvel movies at the moment,

They show scenes of the previous movies' destruction and the heroes actually show regret and disgust. They're establishing they regret the outcome of some of their actions, even if it wasn't entirely their fault.

Far cry from Superman slamming a drone into the ground and claiming impunity in response to helping to destroy a city.
BVS had better establish he feels even a little bad about it...

Or maybe they thought it wasn't their fault. Invasion, them being the last line of defense, shit happens, people get killed.
Hell it took Tony half a movie into Age of Ultron to realize what you're saying.
Also, Superman hasn't acknowledged jack about what happened to metropolis, that's a paranoid Wayne who holds him responsible. I'm pretty damn sure he'd hold the avengers responsible for New York before they even found the shawarma joint.

Something just looks off in the Black Panther shots that shouldn't be CG doubles. His costume is probably CG enhanced or something.
