Is Bucky supposed to have superhuman powers or does he just have that robot arm?

I think he has strength similar to Steve, although the arm itself is far more powerful. Is there any indication of whether his arm is actually made of Vibranium, or is that just an assumption on our part?

I'd like to see the spider-sense more obviously involved in fights. Normally it's just used for the first suckerpunch and then the rest of the fight looks pretty straightforward. I want to see it used throughout to dodge things that a normal person couldnt conceivably see coming.

I would also like to see more spider-inspired influence. Remember that scene in ASM1 when Spidey was crawling all over the Lizard wrapping him in web and his movements were really sort of creepy and spider-like? Or how about when he was legitimately hanging out on a web feeling for vibrations? That sort of thing was awesome. He's not Spider-Themed-Man, he's Spider-Man.

Yeah, the Spider-sense has been completely underused in the movies. I wanted Venom to launch an attack against Spidey, and him to have been shocked that he didn't have any sense or warning of it happening beforehand.

Nothing has suggested his arm is made of Vibranium. Not at all. In fact, they don't go into any details about the arm ever.

Cap literally killed that man. Broken spine and then drowned. Shame shame shame!

I mean, the entire opening scene for the Winter Soldier is Cap straight up murdering a number of dudes.

Let's take a look at the replay.

1. Choke hold. Nice Guy Cap.

pb0Kv0y.png
2. Hit in the chest by shield. Broken sternum, collapsed lungs? Dead or dying.

3. Hit in the gut or crotch by the shield. Severe internal bleeding. Passed right out. Probably dead.

3. Kicked! Definitely a broken spine, thrown off the ship. Likely dead.

4. Punched! You get to live.

5. Kicked! You get to live.

6. Thrown offboard at sea. Slow, slow death at best.

7. Punched.

8. Kicked. Also guy #10, stabbed through the hand and then kicked in the face so hard he's knocked out. Concussion?

9. Jujitsu takedown.

11. Shield face first. Many teeth gone, probably a broken jaw. Assuming Cap didn't shake his brain around his skull, this guy gets to live!

12. Kicked by Cap in the gut. Boot isn't as hard as shield. Huzzah restraint!

13 & 14. These two take the shield to the gut and face. I'm going to say they survived.

15. Cap does a goddamn piroutte to throw the shield hard enough to hit this dude in the chest and bounce back to him. Reasonably sure he's dead.

16. Two knees to the head. Concussion. Maybe alive!

17. Jujitsu takedown!
18. Shield face first. Severe blunt force trauma. Probably a concussion. Maybe dead.

That's six dudes that are dead. Possibly more depending on how hard Cap punched or kicked them and that's being generous.

the ASM2 suit is basically the Raimi suit with huge eyes, just feels lazy IMO. They tried something different in ASM1 (to varying degrees of success) which was admirable.

The MCU suit is perfect in every way

The ASM1 suit looked better in the game, but I liked it because it was different. I just hated the gold eyes.

I wouldn't say the MCU suit is perfect though.

remember in ASM1 the web shooters flashed a red light and a puff of smoke or whatever would happen whenever he fired a web? that was weird

The moment I knew the Russos weren't fucking around was when Cap through the knife through the dude's hand. Cap in Avengers would have tried to talk him out of hitting the alarm or some shit. Winter Soldier Cap ain't got time for that crap.

Cap threw guys off a plane to their deaths in WWII and the Avengers.

People basically use it as a synonym for "loser" now

Isn't that the original meaning? I know it from pro wrestling, where there were guys whose job it was to lose, to put other people over.

Wolverine, for example, has had a long stretch as a jobber thanks to his inability to die - though no one thinks of him that way because he's popular.

Galactus is another one. They always stop him and we never see him eat a planet anyone gives a shit about.

Cap will throw you out of a plane

He figures he doesn't need a parachute, why should the other guy.

Not even close.

The difference isn't as significant as TASM1 or MCU Spidey, but there's enough differences there to separate it from the Raimi suit. The coloring, the patterns, web shooters, the eyes (as you mentioned), and symbols.

I think you're just undermining the costume cause the movie sucked :P

there are differences I agree, but they are way too subtle to make a difference.

I actually really liked ASM2 and am one of its biggest defenders here :)

The Cap of Winter Soldier is more bluntly violent, and his strength/power presented more matter of factly and less stylized, than in the previous films.

Throwing evil magic sci-fi Nazis to their deaths is different than Cap tearing through mercs in present day shot as a thriller with intense immediacy.

Agreed, even the hexagon pattern of the fabric is the same. Plus that awful spider on the chest. It also feels too "velvety" I guess to me? But that said, I honestly hated the ASM1 suit design wise so my problems with the ASM2 suit are admittedly nitpicky. Just shows how much they got right in 2002.

yeah the ASM2 costume looks like it was made out of ribbon found on a box of valentine's day chocolate you'd buy at the drug store

The ASM2 costume looks horribly basic now. Like I know it looks like the comics, but that's all it has going for it really. MCU Spidey is great in his own right.

People forgetting Cap in MCU doesn't have any No-Kill policy, he's not Batman or Daredevil. He doesn't set out to kill but doesn't mean he won't.

ehhh.. ASM2 looks far better than this one. The new overly colorful one looks solid, but the last one was on point. Definitely liked the eyes there more than here as well.

In a morbid way I appreciate that practically everyone in the MCU Avengers team (or otherwise) have killed before, and it's treated as unspoken fact in a casual sense in accordance to the general tones MCU movies operate within and never really factors into plot except for that one time Ultron accuses all of them of being unworthy due to...you know, all the killing. It's a sharp contrast from the ethical quagmire that plagues Batman and Superman (films).

Someone in this thread mentioned that Hulk is very careful not to kill anyone in his rampages. I wonder if that's true of MCU Hulk as well. It can't be, right? If it is, then he might be the one Avenger with the lowest body count. Funny!

People must have died as collateral damage from Hulk actions at some point, but they never specify directly and you never see it. Hulk didn't even kill Abomination, and he probably should have. He seems to have the least blood on his hands.

I sort of liked the little activation light and pressure-release puff. Gave the device some character, more of an illusion of function.

I mean, one could say that massive collateral damage counts and is even worse than killing some bad dudes.

But it's never explicitly shown or stated that MCU Hulk has inadvertently killed civilians, so who knows (unless I missed a casualty report scene from Incredible Hulk or AoU).

Thor openly congratulates Banner on all the people Hulk killed at the start of Age of Ultron until he realizes that's probably not want Bruce wants to hear.

Thor: The gates of hell are filled with the screams of his victims. [Banner groans in despair] Uh, but, not the screams of the dead, of course. No no, uh...wounded screams, mainly whimpering, a great deal of complaining and tales of sprained deltoids and, and uh... and gout.

Hulk gives no shits about killing baddies.

The only person who really cares about killing people on The Avengers is Banner, the rest don't give a fuuuuck

ESPECIALLY Cap, why would a soldier care about wiping out enemy combatants

That movie is so all over the place I challenge anyone to remember most scenes.

No hyperbole but I can barely remember anything from either Amazing Spider-man movie. There was a fight in the school in ASM1, I think. And there was some power station nonsense at the end of ASM2. Oh, and ASM2 had that ending with Rhino and the little kid standing up to him. Besides that...I got nothing.

That's such an amazing moment.
Truth. Seeing this and realizing that, after watching TFA and Avengers 1, Captain America's powerset was being fully realized, had me giddy. And then he Civil War'd that fucking Shield jet and it was over for me at that point. I should stop playing around and grab the Blu Ray and soundtrack.
