To the average movie goer this is as much an Iron Man film as it is a Cap film and IM3 did well over $1B.

Not sure about the first one but I think it might top AoU, simply because as far as ensemble movies go, it's something new in the MCU. Audiences are lapping up #teamcap vs #teamironman.
It could happen! What if something destroys movie distribution on May 10th and Civil War is the ONLY movie to come out all summer? And for the rest of the year? And, ummm...everyone loves it and goes 10 times each, and ticket prices triple, and...umm...

I think it could hit $1B too but only if it gets great word of mouth. Even if it is basically Avengers 3, it doesn't say that in the title and I know some have a bad taste left over from Age of Ultron.

Put me in the billion dollar club, Civil War absolutely has potential to hit that world-wide.
I know they've said they want to be more realistic about the type of place Peter would be able to afford and live in in NYC (or did I imagine that?), but this looks too run down, with newspapers covering the windows/doors and all that. Looks like a place someone is trying to hideout in. Trying to figure out why Aunt May/Peter would be in that situation and it doesn't add up.
Break in robbery. Too poor to replace window, duh.

What, why? It will kill Iron Man 3. Fanbase has only gotten stronger and it'll be an infinitely better movie. More draw too.
I believe Iron Man 3 was riding that additional scenes for the Chinese release with Chinese stars wave.
