Yeah, I think that's key -- just being more careful when handling. I'll get this one fixed if it qualifies for it under the one year warranty and be more careful with it in the future. Future cameras I buy, however, will be ones with interchangeable lens allowing me access to the sensor so that I can fix issues like this myself.
I do like having panorama, video, GPS (though the WX220 doesn't have that -- which is disappointing, an earlier Cyber Shot did) features. I'm guessing I'll give up some of those going to a MFT.
I have Lightroom but find it a bit of a pain to use. Does GIMP's clone / heal spot removal capabilities stack up? I may just use that if so.

A Canon or Nikon 70's/80's flim camera. Can't tell exactly, but looks more Canon to me.
EDIT: Looks a smidge closer to a Nikon FG type than a Canon AE1, but in a photo like that it's pretty hard to determine.

I'd flip it around and look at lenses. You seem to enjoy macro so maybe look at macro lenses and see which system has the best lenses for you.

As per the previous post, after you've made certain you can get a macro lens, go to a store and hold these cameras and buy the one that feels most right in your hands and stuck to your face (or arms length or whatever).

Anyone got any idea why my Sigma 10-20 F/4-5.6 refuses to stop down below F/5.0 now? Haven't used it in a while and have found it's now developed that fault...
Are you at the lower focal length when trying to adjust the f-stop?

These are the correct answers. I did the same years ago and ended with MFT because of the fabulous Olympus 60mm Macro which is also not a bad all-purpose lens at all. Here's the Flickr pool to give you an impression of the versatility of that glass:

Just went through a similar struggle and landed on the Sony a6000. Do not regret my decision. Second choice would be the rebel t6i if you want a DSLR and no mirrorless.

If you're looking to get a macro lens on the cheap and don't mind manual focus and aperture you could also look for and adapt a used Vivitar 55mm f2.8. I picked up my copy for around $80 and have had a lot of fun messing around with it. Though I'm sure the Olympus is also wonderful!

I was a fan of Canon prior, but when looking at the pure technology, the a6000 was one of the best cameras at the price point. The lenses are deff more expensive in general than Canon or Nikon, but I knew I only wanted a couple good lenses anyways. The size of the a6000 is great. Coming from a DSLR, it felt going backwards, like using a digital camera again just from the size. Once I really got to use the camera, I realized how great it really was in such a small package. I also looked at it from a future perspective. Mirrorless cameras are only going to get better, so it would be best to invest in that system now, rather than a DSLR from my point of view. The battery on the a6000 is not that great, but that is easy to fix. For video, there is some getting used to, especially since I am not the biggest fan of the manual focus on the camera and lenses.
At the end of the day, I bought an a6000 to test with a lens I wanted and knew how it felt to use a normal DSLR. I talked to some friends who are really into photography/videography and they said I made the right choice and why and it held solidify the deal. Another friend has the a6000 and was able to answer a lot of my questions prior to buying and when I first got it, which was nice.

Revueflex were rebranded Zenith for the West German market, sold by retailer Quelle. M42 means you can get very fine glass for it, eg the SMC Takumar Pentax lenses.

Well i managed to find an X-pro 2 in stock somewhere, and it got delivered today. But the lens is arriving tomorrow. Cruel. Can't wait to get shooting with it.
I've amassed quite a bit of vintage cameras and lenses over the past few weeks. Basically looking for something to shoot 35mm film on. I was curious if anyone one here wanted to see the extras and would maybe be interested in them for a reasonable deal. I'll post pics in a bit if some are interested.
DPReview has their X-Pro2 review up. Still not sure if I want to "upgrade" from my XT-1.

Question - some of you might remember that the D40 could do high speed sync because it has an electric shutter. If you stuck a non-TTL flash on the D40, you could sync at crazy high speeds like 1/4000.
Do the newer cameras that have electronic shutter capability have that functionality too?

Not worth it for that price. The XT10 is a great buy with most of the practical features.
You buy the XPRO 2 for the complex engineering regarding the OVF.
If that's not a deal maker wait for the XT2.
I'm still torn, I'm left eye dominant, I basically never use the OVF on my X100T, mostly because I'm too lazy to really spend time with it and learn the ins and outs with parallax etc, it would help if the camera had a physical focus scale and wasn't focus by wire. I'd easily accept a bit thicker profile to have that.

The OVF seems sexy but really, I find the EVF to be my go-to viewfinder for the most part. On my x100s, I generally switch as needed but rarely use the OVF, though it is nice to have. The focus by wire part is less concerning as I've found my vintage glass spends more time on my X-T1 than the Fuji lenses.

Well my lens arrived for my Xpro -2 and just spent the afternoon setting up. It is certainly quirky, but i like that something to sink my teeth into.
The view mode is doing my head in though, i'm trying to set it up so i look through the viewfinder, and the menu displays on the back. I have been bombarded with info though, so i probably just missed something when cycling through the view modes.
As this is my first fuji camera, i can't seem to see the AF-Point selection, i can only see it on the back of the LCD screen, and not in the viewfinder. Is this down to the OVF using parallax error?

You probably need to use the evf to see it on the screen, dpreview has the review out, there may be some tips there.

I just had a check and that is the case, thanks. Make sense, as the OVF is not a true reading of the frame.

Nice! I just bought a Samyang (Rokinon) 12mm f2.0 for my A6000. Should be coming soon.
I have the 8mm f2.8 fisheye too, and it's great, but I wanted something non-distorted for some of the night photography I've been doing.

Yes. Metering tries to make whatever it is averaging neutral if you are shooting something dark then you need to drop the EV down and vice versa.
Nice! I've done some long exposures of the night sky and wanted something a bit wider. I also have an A6000- what a gem. I use it more than my A7s.

Only if I'm shooting aperture or shutter priority. Which is hardly ever.
If you're in one of the auto modes, adjusting the exposure compensation is the main way to make your image brighter or darker.

Interesting, I just started doing it in manual unless I'm doing it wrong. I think it's been helping. There's been a couple of shots that wouldn't have even happened unless I was adjusting my metering. I don't touch it during the day, but I have been during the night.

Well, like...if you're shooting in manual, look at the screen, and see that your pics are too dark, all you gotta do is slow your shutter speed, open your aperture, or raise your ISO a bit. No fiddling with exposure compensation necessary.

That much I already know, but I was using it to allow me to up my shutter speed a little bit to decrease camera shake.

If you wanna do that and you're already in manual mode, then just increase your shutter speed to begin with. What your exposure meter says at that moment is irrelevant ( in the context of saving time when shooting). You already know what settings to change. Just do it.
