This is at least better than the other guy calling it Agents of SHIT.
lol
Oh for the love of fucking god I was being facetious! Jesus Christ some of you guys are sensitive as FUCK to any kind of criticism against something you like! Sheesh!
I already talked about why I don't think the show is good in other posts in this very same thread.
I've watched every episode of season 1 and season 2, and outside of perhaps three or four episodes, the show is mediocre at best. It's biggest problem is that the vast majority of characters are unlikable. They killed off some of the more interesting ones (Bill Paxton's character, Tripplet), and some of the more compelling characters were one and done (such as the former agent that betrayed them and took over their base in season one, and Marta from Arrested Development's character).
Ward? Unlikable. Sky? She's hot and cold. Sometimes great, often annoying. Coulson? Inconsistent. I love Coulson, but he is written terribly on the show. May is badass, but bland and one note. Mack has absolutely no personality at all. Tripplet was a much more fun and charismatic token black guy. Fitz and Simmons have actually improved over season one, but they completely dropped the compelling PTSD Fitz storyline, and Simmons on the alien planet was some of the best stuff I've seen on the show, but that was just two episodes. They actually had her doing something interesting, then it was back to their boring adventures on earth, and the Inhuman's storyline that's actually really boring.
Hunter and Mockingbird are actually interesting. I'll watch their spin-off show, because I do think they're consistent, and fun characters. I kept watching because I kept hoping it would get better, but I was left scratching my head when I'd hear people saying how amazing of a show it is. It isn't for me, personally, and that's ok. I mean, fuck, I like Supergirl, and that show is pretty fucking mediocre too. I also keep watching because I want it to get better (and at least Supergirl has some likable characters, especially our protagonist. Skye was much more fun when she was the snarky hacker. I don't know what they're doing with her now, but it's not working).
Calling it Agents of S.H.I.T was me being cheeky, but I know, comic book shows are serious business. I haven't written the show off completely, but the moment a more interesting. MCU tv show comes along, I am there. I love Daredevil and Jessica Jones, but the network Marvel show so far pales in comparison. And I don't think it being a network show is the problem. It's mainly the fact that it doesn't seem like Marvel gives a shit about it, and it's forced to root around in the scraps of the MCU, and it feels small potatoes.
I think a shift in tone could do the show wonders. Personally, I think the characters need to lighten the fuck up. They're so dour and serious. I like the cast, as I think the actors are very personable. Just...not on the show.
