How many action scenes are in this movie and which are really good/not so good?
They are all good, but the titular fight/solo Bats bit/Doomsday fight are all back to back in the last half or third of the film.

Before that it's mostly the Batmoblie chase, Superman saving people and the Knightmare bit, oh and Bruce running through the MoS climax which was also really good.

I loved that most fights are dirty. No grace when Batman and Superman throw down. Doomsday fight was cool and unique to see multiple heroes fight one villain with combo attacks. Usually in comic films, it's against an army or one on one.

This seems really awful for pacing and just general excitement in movie.

It's a long, long, long movie. Too long, long, long. Also Weta Digital's CGI is horrible like always. They should learn to animate living creatures. It's just like the LoTRs and the Hobbits: every breathing thing looks like plastic. Awful.

It sounds bad but I think it works. If your used to the usual 3 act structure (or more like the 3 setpiece thing) it's a little jarring but I think it works. It does make the movie feel like a action brick in the last hour or so though.

There's a lot once the second half kicks in. I don't think any of them are bad.

I think Batman vs Superman is VERY good.

Batmobile car chase: Fine
Batman dream: Confusing
Batman vs Superman: Great
Batman vs goons at a warehouse: Awesome
Trilogy vs Doomsday: Good
I love the sound of this, I guess Snyder does it well again with action scenes.

If I wanted to see this movie again, I'd buy a ticket, show up halfway through, and watch Bruce stomp Clark the fuck out, then peace the hell out again

I'm assuming the "We just gotta have the Dark Knight Returns pose, even if it makes Batman look like a weird rubber person" shot stayed relatively unfixed?

It wasn't that noticeable. For the most part there is very little CGI Batman and that whole sequence is a quick one of him trying to dodge Doomsday.

Which I really dug, helped to show how out of his league Bruce was.
Sounds way underpowered compared to comic Doomsday.

Then again Superman is way underpowered compared to comic book Superman.
Yeah but nothing is ever as powerful as the comics.

DCEU Supes is still probably the most powerful character in all CBMs so far, yet he was still getting slapped by Doomsday.

I'd go:

Batmobile car chase: meh
Batman dream: unnecessary
Batman vs Superman: bleh, CGI
Batman vs goons at a warehouse: really good choreography
Trilogy vs Doomsday: horrible CGI mess

Well, it's not even the worst thing in the movie. :)

Ha. When Batman jumps on Superman and they crash through the skylight. Oh boy. Batman is definitely CGIman when they land. It was a cool fight though once the kryptonite gas got involved. Well, one sided... but effective.

No fuck that I loved that shot, Batman with the fucking double stomp on Superman through a building

Then he gives him a double dose of that green gas then commences to kicking the little shit out of All American Jesus until Redhead McPlotTwist saves him

This whole fight was one of the stupidest things in the movie. WTF, they go on and try to kill each other, then the chick comes in "plx, think about the mothers" and then they go "ok ok, we're pals now lol".

People are going to get one helluva surprise from this if they thought Man of Steel and Sucker Punch scripts were bad.

Can someone spoil the ending for me. Why was that soil rising up?

Things float around Kryptonians before they fly. I guess he's just gonna bust outta that coffin. Or, at least, the coffin is gonna fly away:

Maybe it's

Even with WB aggressively watching the crowd I still feel like you just sat there staring at your phone if this is what you come out of the movie with

What are some examples of good superhero movie scripts, in your opinion?

If you don't understand why Clark begging Bruce to stop so he can save Martha, thus causing Bruce to flip the fuck out in confusion and grief is a REAL good way to end that fight, I dunno what to tell you

A lot of stuff doesn't work in that movie. THAT did.

And you saw this as part of the press screening? Oh boy....

Yeah, I figured so, but wasn't 100% certain.

Why? I don't have the right to judge a movie I didn't like that much?

Watchmen, Big Hero 6, V for Vendetta (if that counts), The Dark Knight Rises and I really LOVED Deadpool although the script was bad, but I loved the well written shitty jokes. Superhero movies have bad scripts, but these Snyder movies are just something else.

Oh man this is gonna be a hell of a weekend...

So saw Jason was at the BvS London premiere, and reminded me why was Aquaman given pre-release material (poster and action figures) when he has equal or less screentime to Cyborg and The Flash who are being mentioned.

Knightmare is visually awesome but a waste of goddamn time in this movie.

Flash showing up looking like he was just LARPing at a steampunk festival fucked me up

And then revealing everybody else in surveillance footage/15 second cameos was just lame

I've been thinking that too just from hearing the spoilers. Maybe he has a longer sequence in the director's cut?

Have you heard about sarcastic generalising? I just did that. I didn't like the script so I made a crude generalisation. Also I'm not the one who gets to write about it, luckily, but we all gave it a grade. I didn't crush it, I found the movie really stupid, but it's perfect entertainment if you look for something that stupid but good looking (apart from those horrible CGI fights). I'm the guy who likes bad movies, so I enjoyed it as much as I could. The length really killed it in the end, take an hour off and it would have been better.

No idea whatsoever. There's a sequence late in the film where, in the back of my mind I'm thinking, Aquaman can show up here. Contrived as all hell, but he could show up here. He didn't show up there.

Cyborg cameo is by far the strangest. Don't know how Vic got injured, who Silas Stone is, what is that tech. Speaking general audience, not NERDS.

What's the worst aspect of the film with respect to shoehorned DCCU setup? Knightmare? Sounds like it has some cool visuals but otherwise completely stops the film's narrative dead for the sake of Justice League setup.

The Knightmare was fine imo, it's the second dream immediately afterwards that's out of place. Also I felt like the Flash, Cyborg, and Aquaman reveals near the end could have been cut out and saved for the director's cut too.

Aquaman's just chilling in a pond outside of this little shitty island, saves Lois, steals her from Clark

Mr. Steal Your Girl

Beyond that there's zero spot for him to show up. None.

You do realize cutting an hour off the movie would actively make it worse, right? Like the length is literally only an issue if you're referring to it not being long enough. Do you have any idea what you're even talking about?

I heard people say they film should have been shorter, while others wanted more to iron out some issues....

This is going to be MoS all over again. Luckily this time our new cycle (who is doing the image?) won't last as long. Suicide Squad is coming in August.

There's no possible way to shorten the movie without completely re-tooling the entire thing.

There's a second dream?

Also, those cameos are near the end? I was under the impression that they were around the midway point.

As far as I'm concerned it's 4 hours long. Can't wait for the R-rated version that is 3 hours long.

Personally, I would have liked to have seen more. It felt very rushed in some spots.

I'm definitely looking forward to Ultimate Cut

I'm seeing a pattern here of you not really paying attention to the shit you're talking about.

Yeah? I know Watchmen is Snyder's movie. It's his best movie and one of the best comic movies ever made. But there's also only two good Snyder movies: 300 and Watchmen. Legend of Guardians was decent.

Sucker Punch, Man of Steel and BvS have shitty scripts. Goyer has written shitty scripts since The Dark Knight Rises.

thecouncil said:
That's a Snyder movie, you know.

And I have a feeling you're gonna catch hell for that Dark Knight Rises comment.

I meant The Dark Knight! Goddamn Finnish names for these movies. Rises is rubbish! :)
