just... wow

Mother fucking cock sucker son of a bitch

This is painful to see

The lengths some of you guys go to to convince yourselves that this movie is still worth watching and all the critics are somehow wrong. It's impressive.
You'd think there'd be pre-orders on the line or something because much of this eerily resembles review threads on gaming side.

Or maybe we want to make our own opinion and not just fully trust RT scores that don't even include every review score right now or which aren't truly indicative of a movie's quality because everything is subjective

So by the looks of it. It;s gonna be one of those movies where the critics hate it, while the general public will love it. Judging by the fan reactions from the other day.

What are you on about. Critics loved Nolan's Batman.

It's not like critics are unfamiliar with the idea of good, serious comic book films.

Nolan also made serious comic book movies that looked like serious films. Some critics might not quite grasp serious comic book movies that well.. look like comic book movies.

You give a bunch of super fanboy nerds free advance tickets... the reaction will be generally _____________?

I am a super fanboy nerd who got a free ticket and sat in line for 3 hours for the fan screening last night and my reaction is *fart noise*

Man remember a few months ago when that story came out that WB was nervous about the reaction to this and it's plans for the future?

No?

I mean, I'll check it out on Netflix or something down the line... but the DC fan in me doesn't feel up to watching another shitty adaptation of great material.

I'll follow the reception closely (particularly what fans are saying), and I'll give the film the benefit of the doubt if some of the venom evaporates. Then again, if it really is "that bad", then no - I'm going to go ahead and reject the narrative that says consumers who choose to give a shit about quality also lack self-control when something is clearly less than good.

Don't get me wrong, I'm glad you will avoid going. But for me, when I'm a huge movie goer, I know this is going to be a big point of discussion on podcasts and the internet for the rest of the year, and I simply can't avoid having an opinion early. I want to know for myself.

Guys don't forget some of the best films in history have been panned critically upon initial release only to be reevaluated later on.

Citizen Kane

2001

Blade Runner

He had what, 300? as his only good movie? And even that wasn't that great.

As far as critics go, Dawn of the Dead, Watchmen, 300 were his best reviewed movies.

Dawn of the Dead - 75% on Rottentomatoes
Watchmen - 65% on Rottentomatoes
300 - 60% on Rottemtotatoes

All of his other movies have scored much lower.

So...who's head is gonna roll first at WB?

My guess is whoever made the 2nd trailer.

Seriously that guy has to feel like a million bucks right now, if he didn't already meet the headsman his sentence has been commuted

Nobody at WB is going to care about the way the trailers were received now that critics have savaged the actual film

All this talk of WB killing the DC universe, etc. are crazy though. It'll still make $1b+ ww and the fans/GA could like it.

Look at the box office results for the shitty Transformers and POTC movies (outside of the originals for each). All huge ww blockbusters.

Could someone translate this into video game terms? I'm not a big movie guy but this being bad seems to be a big deal.

Seems like McWeeny was right. The "no jokes" policy was in play on this movie.

I am super disappointed by these reviews, but like anything else I will judge it for myself on Thursday.

769th superhero movie of the year sucks really bad.

News at 11 ...

Honestly I loved 300 but Snyder is a failed director. They should get rid of him.

The fact that Deadpool is an excellent movie shows you that it's possible to make great superhero movies if you just get rid of that same old recipe that's been used in every big superhero movie of the last 10 years.

Zack Snyder err'body lmao

I appreciate the lowered expectations though. I fully know how to approach this shipment. IMAX screening, nice and loud.

So by the looks of it. It;s gonna be one of those movies where the critics hate it, while the general public will love it. Judging by the fan reactions from the other day.

More like the people willing to see it early are more likely to give positive impressions and slurp up whatever cracks out of someone's ass. Early audience impressions should always be suspect.

I've never particularly liked Snyder...I honestly think 300 is the only film of his I enjoyed. This doesn't surprise me at all and it's unfortunate they chose him to lead the way for DC. I hated Watchmen and I'm seeing reviewers compare it to that *vomit*

How is this even possible?

That was amazing.
