back down to 29% on RT.

we are starting to get into the number of review range, where climbing to 50% is going to be really hard.

That meta score based on these savage reviews is surprisingly high tbh.

Not far off from the average on RT, which is currently 5.3/10. Remember the percentage is not a score, but the percent of reviews that are "fresh." Any review below a 6/10 is "rotten," so a movie where every single critic gave it a 5.9/10 would have a 0%.

Who expected anything different from Snyder?

Almost like Zac Snyder is a bad director. The idea that they were planning to build their cinematic universe on his back is fucking hilarious.

I can't help but think no one at DC's movie side of the biz has any clue what they're doing. If there's a unifying creative vision, it has yet to manifest itself. They have no Feige equivalent. Near as I can tell, the only plan they had was to swing hard in the opposite direction of Marvel and make "gritty" superhero movies for the Walking Dead-loving audience.

Putting their stock in Snyder, especially after Man of Steel... I just can't fathom it.

From Grace's review. It feels like some critics didn't know that superhero stories could take themselves seriously, in the context of supernatural mythology.
It's almost as if they're not as familiar with the range of comicbook stories.

I'm super interested in this now. Looking forward to it more than I was today!

I'm not sure how one can come to that conclusion when critics liked the serious Nolan trilogy.

The Dark Knight trilogy does exist, though, and was reviewed by the same critics.

I mean, that makes no sense. We have plenty of serious superhero stories with that kind of stuff. I'm sure most of those critics have probably seen Marvel's Netflix stuff.

I don't buy this theory when the Dark Knight Trilogy was received well

What are you on about. Critics loved Nolan's Batman.

It's not like critics are unfamiliar with the idea of good, serious comic book films.

is that the same Grace who compared Snyder to Kubrick?

Waiting for these reviews is what I imagine Speed Racer felt in the final lap of the movie (another film that was critically panned by critics - but I loved it).

I'm patiently waiting for the end of this madness - which for me, is finally watching it for myself.

I am not trying to be a downer, but please don't get your hopes up thinking this movie is that. It's not. It only pretends to be intellectual.

Well, if it helps. It seems as though most of the negative reviewers were eager to post their impressions. Overtime the score will be grounded of course.

The lengths some of you guys go to to convince yourselves that this movie is still worth watching and all the critics are somehow wrong. It's impressive.
You'd think there'd be pre-orders on the line or something because much of this eerily resembles review threads on gaming side.
