There's your first mistake

Color me shocked. I was expecting the film to either be surprisingly decent or mediocre, I genuinely wasn't expecting initial reviewer consensus to be outright bad. Even ASM2 and MoS got off to a better start.

Maybe when more reviews come it will rise by 20%-30% on RT / 20+ on MC or so, but the early damning reviews are still out of left-field to me. Maybe critical dissonance can kick in later on and it could still bring in a few big bucks at the BO. But if audience reviews fall in line with critics and they stay away, holy cow some heads are gonna roll at WB, definitely Snyder's in particular.

That also makes me wonder what exactly will happen to the DCCU. MoS may have made some decent cash but I wouldn't be surprised if this sullied the idea a la Sony's ASM series. It doesn't help that GL 2011 was supposed to originally start the DCCU but it flopped pretty hard.

Nolan is unzipping his pants as we speak

Warner Bros gonna be in full beg mode

Save us Suicide Squad

Holy rotten tomatoes Batman

Suicide Squad you da real MVP, hopefully anyway

I think they dump Justice League and do 5 R-rated Batman Universe movies.

People love Batman and they can lock up Smith/Leto/Affleck/Robbie/Simmons for Suicide Squad 2,3 and Batman Trilogy 2.

What happened to all of the positive reviews in the impressions threads? This is why I don't trust nerds when it comes to reviewing comic book movies.

The lengths some of you guys go to to convince yourselves that this movie is still worth watching and all the critics are somehow wrong. It's impressive.
You'd think there'd be pre-orders on the line or something because much of this eerily resembles review threads on gaming side.

IGN gave this movie a bad review because they werent paid enough by the studio

they probably based their review off of a rough cut, not the final version

Read the positive reviews.

Most are lukewarm at best.

Not the point.

Movies in that 10% bracket are pretty unlikable in every regard. There are lots of good, even great, movies in middling bracket. Not saying this will be one, but it's a lot less crippling to my anticipation.

'I hope it gets to 50 percent!' Is the saddest thing I've ever heard in a movie thread

You give a bunch of super fanboy nerds free advance tickets... the reaction will be generally _____________?

I see the game they are playing. Start this shit at 11% and have it climb to 38%; you're now thinking "Damn 38% that's not that bad!"
I don't pay money to see a film in theaters unless it has a shiny red tomato, damn it.
And that audience score popcorn bag had better not be tipped over, either. I'm looking at you The Witch.

I'm further surprised after all the fans talking about how everyone would be eating crow. This is worse than I expected. Normally reviews start high and drop, this is the literal opposite.

I'll still have to see this train wreck for myself though, so WB wins in the end.

Best wishes.

"Worth," does not directly correlate into the subjective quality of a film. I don't care how much of a piece of dogshit the movie is I'm going to see it Day 1. I always figured it would be a trainwreck with the slight hope that Snyder could pull a miracle, now I will watch to laugh at how hard Snyder failed. So the movie is still worth seeing to me.

BEcause I do think it's still worth watching because I judge movies for myself. I'm also not a critic, and I've seen people who I know would be hard on this movie simply because they are fans of the source material say they at the very least liked it. So yea I'll go see it for myself and at this point it is worth watching to me because I haven't seen it yet.
