Batman v. Superman RT Thread: like standing ovations in rain

I was puzzled when they gave it to Zach Snyder after the Meh Of Steel he made but I was willing to give him the benefit of the doubt.

Then the trailers happened and I noticed I was more enthusiastic about Deadpool than the dream movie I've been waiting for since I was a child. Turns out I wasn't wrong about being more extatic about DP.

It sounds like there's going to be a lot of mixed reception, based on the collated Metacritic scores, and that its RT score will depend on whether those mixed reaction critics liked the movie more than they hated it.

I know I haven't seen the film yet, but fuck using a line like that. Sometimes critics are more hyperbolic than the worst of forum posters and that seems like a sentence generated for pure shock value rather than saying anything meaningful or constructive.

The hyperbole is intended to grab eyeballs and to get their piece to go viral. I'm seeing a lot of it, and it's pretty disgusting.

As a comic book fan this is a little disappointing to hear, hopefully I will still enjoy it though, just like I enjoyed MoS (like it, but didn't love it)

Let's hope Civil War doesn't disappoint (pretty sure that will be great with Marvel's track record)

I was sort of guessing 55% for the film before today coming off of MoS personally.

I cant even read this past the first paragraph.

It says a lot of very depressing things about our world right now that this astonishingly dumb film has real-life parallels. Batman V Superman: Dawn Of Justice is the story of a self-important billionaire with a casual attitude to the truth, who becomes paranoid about a segment of the immigrant population. He decides to take brutal and - as it happens - entirely unjustified and even self-endangering action against that immigrant, to the benefit of a rich psychopath who wants to distract everyone from their own nefarious grasp at powe

Seriously? give me a fuckin break.

Jesus, yeah, I can't roll my eyes hard enough.

I don't want to comment but yeah superhero movies don't have to follow marvels method let DC have their serious movies.

The most well received comic movie ever is completely serious.

The problem isn't being serious, it's that Snyder sucks at trying to tackle it.

How do they let this happen? You make this film right and you set up your studio for years. Was nobody overseeing this project?

Yeah, but he's a terrible screenwriter :/
I haven't really read his scripts, but I have read some of the stuff he writes, and heard him talk about story and the man knows what he's talking about.

I think that a good story with a so-so script can be saved, a shit story with a great script is still a shit story.

If its anything like MOS then i'd be watching it multiple times. Apart from a few things here and there MOS was a brilliant movie.

I never expected much, but even still I thought low 60's would have been an easy lock. Goddamn. Usually dumb fun, big budget action is enough to get somewhere in that range. Even Jurassic World pulled a 72% out of its ass somehow.
