I just texted my friends and said we should get together, watch Batman and Robin, and drink to every Mr Freeze pun.

Arnold's hammy as fuck performance is really what carries that movie

THIS IS NOW A MR FREEZE THREAD

Good luck with that. You'll be passed out within an hour.

I love the puns in this movie so much ;-;

Quite honestly, Arnold is the only enjoyable thing about that movie. His puns and delivery are just fun. I don't even think he has a line in the movie that isn't a pun now that I think about it. Dude just looks like he's having so much fun playing Freeze that his fun somehow projected down onto me and all of a sudden I'm cracking a smile. Everything else was shit. Freeze in hell Batman.

ALSO:

I would like to formally apologize to any and everyone who got in any sort of argument, disagreement, scrap, dust-up, or unpleasantness, perceived, intended, or otherwise, regarding the name of this film.

While I still think the name of the film was fucking stupid, and is fucking stupid, it has been made painfully obvious that my assertions the title would not be a reflection of the actual content of the film was

100% Completely Fucking Wrong

I was absolutely off-base in assuming the film would be about more than that. It apparently is not. The tacked on, stupid subtitle is completely representative of the tacked on aspirations towards being a prelude to Justice League, and the completely dumb sounding main title is absolutely reflective of the film's overall aim, and the apparently clumsy means by which they set about achieving it.

I fucked that one up, because I am a naive, hopeful old idiot.

I apologize.

So they devoted an entire film to those two pages in a comic where the heroes fight after they first meet up?

I look forward to your review

Sunday night, probably.

Was gonna be tomorrow night but that woulda been kind of a hassle co-ordinating with the wife after work, and this now seems like a movie we can safely wait on until after Easter dinner.

Although we're both sort of oddly intrigued by the idea of watching just how dark and weird this alternate universe depiction of Superman & Batman can go. The idea of it being some weird mashup of Batman Returns, Temple of Doom, and Sucker Punch has a really fucked-up appeal to it.

Although she wasn't too impressed by Watchmen, so...

Joel Schumacher begged him to play Mr Freeze and he agreed and he did enjoy it so far i know. But yeah he carries the whole movie and that's why it is enjoyable to watch.

take her back in time to the 80s when it was relevant

There's not much in the release schedule for the next 4 weeks. I think it'll have decent legs regardless of WOM as there's nothing else out.

Yeah, that four week buffer is going to make things pretty murky. Expect lots of bickering here over how much that contributes to its numbers.

Unless it drops off despite the buffer which would be incredibly bad for WB. Beyond bad.

Is there a chance the preconceived notions, bad pre release rumors, the movie equivalent of a AAA ultra hyped game getting overly criticized before release and ppl wanting it to fail.....is there a chance any of that could fit here? Or is it really a turd

The bad stuff started when it started looking bad. It was not baseless. Turned out it actually was bad.

I still have a headache from watching this. There was only one film that has made me physically ill before and that was the live version of Inspector Gadget. Now there is two.

It's too bad the others villains in the movie didn't dish out the puns either.

"Sorry bats, but I've got some big plants tonight that I can't break!"

"You know what killed the dinosaurs? The Happening!"

"Will you please stop being such a thorn in my side?"

"Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...."
Bane

"You? Stop me? You can't cedar forest for the trees."

"I'm having a vine old time here!"

So what's the deal with this movie's crew and cast praising Chris Terrio's screenplay? Nobody said shit about how visionary Snyder was or any bullshit of that sort. All the praise was always for Terrio's script, consistently and constantly, by nearly every cast member.

The plot in this movie is asssssssssss.

I have seen this movie.

This movie is bad.

This movie is really bad.

This movie is bad and should feel bad.

This movie is Suckerpunch levels of Snyder-bad.

I have no interest in watching ANYTHING ELSE touched by nuclear-grade toxic hands of Zack Snyder. WB needs to stop this man and re-engineer ALL of their plans for this franchise. I predict that this movie will have no legs. No legs of any sort. The first 90 minutes are composed of complete dead air with nothing even remotely entertaining happening. Dull as a motherfucker. The "plot" is just Snyder and company scrambling for reasons to make Superman and Batman fight.

Then they fight.

This movie has taught me that I'm actually not interesting in watching something like that.

Welp.

I thought Mahvel might be the one that drives the genre into the ground, but DC might actually kill the whole freaking thing in one single blow.

Is it Michael Jackson bad?

You know how bad it was at the end of his life. (Key & Peele skit)

Jesus christ this thread is over 9,000 posts long

Has a movie review thread ever hit 10K in the history of gaf?

While not so much a "review" thread, reactions to Kanye's new album is at OT2 right now.

Wasn't super excited to see this but was hoping it would be a good movie at least. Will still see but probably on a cheaper Tuesday night.

This is where the second weekend might become even more fraught with schadenfreude than this one.
