Batman v. Superman RT Thread: like standing ovations in rain

Also I really wish I matinee'd this on a weekday like I do most superhero flicks. Forgot how many kids are brought to these.

Screaming like it's a horror movie.

Bale's Batman (that is, Bale in the suit) was never that good to begin with. In many instances he was the poorest aspect of those films.

Was pretty bored about an hour in. Lots of vapid and, well, dumb dialogue. Don't think about what they say. I guess red herrings and misdirection was the right words to use for some of the angles and sub plots.
Stuff happens, liked about 5 min of the entire finale fight.
The end.

Recording Batman v Superman: Dawn of "Justice" Angry Review & HUGE LONG LOUD PASSIONATE Spoilers Discussion. Holy Shit.

I have to say that I'm not the biggest fan of all the comic book films. Nolan's trilogy would be my favourites and the only ones I own. I have seen most of the others though and I honestly don't understand a lot of the hate this film is getting. It has it's flaws but I think it was solid if at very least your standard superhero affair.

Get the feeling people are just falling over themselves to give it some flack.

I actually really enjoyed Man of Steel, but was disappointed that it was not in the same vein as Batman Begins, a truly and foremost movie about Clark the person and what makes him tick, what he desires, what he aspires to be, what he intends to accomplish, and thus having more humanity than a lot of humans. Instead, he is unsure about humanity, like Jonathan Kent, a big flaw in the film, and it shouldn't have been that way. The Smallville TV show had the better characterizations by the longest mile. The action scenes in MoS were incredible, exhausting, and just how it would be if two superpowered aliens went at it. And yeah, although most of the killing was done by Zod and his brigade, Superman should have struggled to take it outside the city.

I am bummed by the reviews, I was really looking forward to this movie, and it seems the problems hinted by that awful spoilery trailer were on the nose. It seems the Lex character is going to imitate the maniacal villainy of previous campy WB characters, instead of a more nuanced and compelling story for him. And it seems they dropped the ball, if the movie is going to be that long and not much fighting, much less with dubious motivations for both Batman and Superman instead of using their brains regarding each other, but we will see.

I was planning on seeing it next Wednesday, but I am so intrigued and curious now because of all the reviews I cannot wait to see it for myself tomorrow morning.
Going in with an open mind, but keeping expectations in check.

Saw it earlier tonight, Walter Chow's review for Film Freak was spot on. It was such an oppressively grim movie. I'm stunned Warner Bros let him make it. My expectations were beneath the ground, which is why I'm kind of indifferent about it all.

Okay I'm probably one of the few that genuinely never got freaked out when I watched a superhero film back then, granted I watched most of the 90s superhero films on home video.

First superhero film in theaters for me was Raimi Spider-Man 1 at age 11 for me.

Plus my little sister was pretty okay when she watched Spider-Man 3 at age 4. Okay I would probably be guilty on that part, but she's at least accustomed to superhero films at least and to this day.

I think it's more to do with a theater room generally tending to be very loud, the noise in itself would likely spook children.

Or maybe they actually don't like it and have real problems with the way it was done?

Why are the folks who like this movie trying so hard to find ways to dismiss the opinions of folks who don't?

I think AoU is better TBH. If you were going to ask me, which one would you re-watch it would be AoU.
The thing with AoU was that it was disappointing, not bad. It was still solid film, albeit one with issues. If that ends up being the case with BvS (in my opinion, obviously) is something I'll find out for myself when I see the film. And though the reviews don't exactly aspire me with confidence, I'll try to enter the theater with an open mind.

I say it's more frustrating, because the pieces are there. Motherfuckers can't build the puzzle tho

I loved the movie , but it is a bad film .
I wonder if Snyder made this film on coke. Literally everything and the kitchen sink (or a sink anyway).

This is the Superman movie Warner Bros wanted to make. They hired the director, they wanted a gritty grim Superman... I mean, they got what they asked for.
People don't want this kind of Superman movie, and Im glad they're finding out.

If it's like a puzzle, then maybe the Extended Cut will fill in the blanks. Again, I'll pass final judgement for myself when I see the film.

Guys, I went to see the movie a couple hours ago and I gotta say, it was great!, had great time from start to end, and while the movie has some flaws I think it did well in the things that really matter.

This kind of experience always remind me no to thrust the over reacting internet all the time.

Supes was alright and Batffleck knocked it out of the park, and by far the weakest links were Luthor and Lane (both the actors and the writing were meh at best). Go ahead and watch the movie, have some laughs, some surprises and some over the top moments, it is a movie after all so dont take things too seriously, I sure as hell left with a great taste in my mouth.

I wonder how much higher the RT score would be if the Marvel logo flashed on screen at the beginning before the movie started.

Hmm...

No, it's not.

They announced this movie by quoting DARK KNIGHT RETURNS.

I'm frankly relieved both Bats and Supes are more balanced than in that story that I hate.
