Dark Souls III [Import OT] Kindle the fire, one last time

A couple of keys I found and don't know what they do (mid-game ish?)

Down in the sewer(?) on the way to Yorm the Giant, in the area where there are the firebrand-wielding enemies, I found two keys relatively close to each other. I'm not at home now so I can't post pics or get their names, but I went through that area itself and found a bunch of locked doors but neither of these keys seems to open them. Any idea what these keys are for?

4th boss help...

the crystal sage keeps hanging my ass on a platter does anyone have some tips :/

Rush in, the longer you sit and wait, the more she attacks. When she disappears, make sure to take down as many crystals as possible. Those will be her clones, take them down. You won't be able to get them all but you'll at least be able to lower the numbers. This is a fight of managing damage done to you and dodging. Get some magic absorb items equipped and a shield. Also make sure you have decent damage, the faster you do it the easier it is.

Is there a ring somewhere that allows me to travel faster through water? I'm fat-rolling thorugh swamps and that crap in the Cathedral of the Deep like there's no tomorrow...

I wish...

thanks, I just got to it today. I'm starting think Pyromancy is the way to go for offensive Faith builds. Hmm.

If you grant his request, he'll become a
merchant at Firelink Shrine
.

Great, thanks for the help. Where is the girl I need to deliver the ring to? I can't remember where he said.

Lol... I did it without destroying the crystals. I didn't know that's what they were doing. I just used those pillars to LOS block stuff while I looked for the one with purple magic then bum rushed him...

Also, since this got lost on the last page - Can anyone tell me exactly where
the hidden room in undead settlement with estus soup and Warriors of Sunlight
is? I've scoured the hell out of that area and I think it's the last thing left there that I haven't found.

It's the basement of the large building directly behind the burning tree where you encounter the first spellcaster.

Dark Souls 3 Publisher Issues Warning About Playing Before Official Release

If you've bought and downloaded the international version of Dark Souls III, publisher Bandai Namco wants you to know that version is not yet "complete."...You can buy the Japanese version of the third Dark Souls and play it in English on Xbox One, but you'll have to do it without the day-one patch

Bandai Namco released a press release, warning players that they'd be playing an unfinished version of the game if they went this route...The international version is currently without its multiplayer features and the publisher says the day-one patch will deliver "further optimization."...

They are full of shit. I've been doing co op and have been invaded multiple times. Fuck off with this PR bullshit Scambo.

Wow, I had no idea. I just bumrushed the boss as soon as she spawned each time, hitting clones if they got in the way. Probably just my build, but it was one of the easiest fights in the game for me.

See I think my builds really really shitty so I'm thinking of starting over but idk...

Finally beat her tho :) she took my like 20 times

I'm not normally that interested in digging into the lore of the Souls games, but seeing as this one seems to have many nods to the previous games I wanted to brush up.

Can anyone recommend a relatively concise video that summarizes the lore of DS1 and DS2? Perhaps explicitly discussing the ties between them? I'm not looking for a long series of videos or a bunch of speculation, if that helps narrow it down.

You may not get concise summaries, but Vaati always goes in depth and Oro's From The Dark playthrough was pretty detailed.

If you want a quicker summary though, here's my favorite for DS1:

And here's probably the most concise one for DS2:

You do it by talking to the blacksmith, he has a reinforce flask option and takes Estus Shards for it.

As for your first question, have you tried slicing off the rope bridge and using it as a ladder?

Nope breaking that bridge leads to another area. I need a bonfire in the Catacombs area. I don't wanna believe they expect you to do the entire area from start to finish and beat the boss. That and the rope bridge comes back together so I can't go back up to the boss.

That's not how that works. There is an unmarked spoilers thread.
Agree with this too. Most people are using spoiler tags so why can't everyone. The game isn't out everywhere so please refrain from being a complete asshole to people that want to know impressions without being spoiled. This is literally what spoiler threads are for.

Much bigger than I expected, probably same size as ds1. But bigger than blood borne by a lot.

Oroboro beat the english version. Took him 24 hours. Pretty much how long it took me to beat BB on my first playthrough....

So?

We'll have to wait some consensus.

I guess, as length is concerned, we are still a lot closer to Demon's Soul/Bloodborne that the Dark Souls (though 24 hours is still very short even for Demon's Soul).

I must hate myself because I keep coming back to this thread.
I've been squatting in this thread since day 1 so I understand your struggle

Depends if he rushed it, that combined with him being a good player.

I beat it in 24, but I 100% bloodborne outside CD in 24, much more content in ds3. I'm talking massive hidden areas.

It's still unrealistic to go into an OT and not expect to be spoiled on things. There's no point in complaining about it when it happens.

No. No it's not. Especially when there is, AGAIN, an unmarked spoiler thread. Being spoiled that there is Weapon X in the game is one thing; being spoiled on an entire area (callback or not) is something else entirely.

The majority of people in this thread seem to know how to have a conversation about the game and where the line is. Not sure why everyone adhering to that is out of the pale.

You should not spoil areas or big secrets, because even if people has the game and wants to talk about it in the OT, that dosn't mean they want things they didn't reach in the game spoiled.

Game is definitely way bigger than Demon's Souls. Demon's is short.

It's weird seeing people say how long or short a game is. I think i'm a slow player so it goes way beyond 20. I know i played DeS after playing Dark Souls, and it came up 40+, then again i was trying to get all trophies in 1 playthrough.

Are you supposed to go through the ENTIRE area to fight L

? It takes 4-5 minutes to get to him and I am at my wits end. Can't find a bonfire anywhere.

Aggregates still give both Bloodborne and Demon's Soul at 30-40 hours, which is significantly bigger than 25.

So the aggregate number of DS3 will grow, but I expect to be around the ballpark of Bloodborne, when playtime is concerned. Once all DLCs are released it's likely that DS3 will be in the middle road between Bloodborne+DLC and complete Dark Souls 1.

But BB & DeS are 30-40 hours, DS 49-65 DS2 47-60

With more optional content in DS3 it means it will have a larger gap, something like 30-50, but still falling short of the other two Dark Souls, I bet.

It took me a long ass time to beat Demon's the first time, for sure. Definitely wasn't until I was comfortable with the game that I realized how "short" it is. Basically when I accidentally killed stockpile thomas in NG++ and had to run through the whole game real fast again to get access to my stuff. And It took me probably 80 hours to beat Dark Souls the first time.

But mostly I mean the areas in Dark Souls 3 are just so much bigger and complex. I'm finding this to be the easiest first playthrough of any Souls game for me in terms of actually dying, but I'm getting lost a lot. And i'm avoiding spoilers but I hear the difficulty ramps up.

I still think the skeletons in Shrine of Storms are hard as hell and I use the 4-1 shortcut everytime

There is a
2nd bonfire by the 2nd skeleton ball. it's left in the hallway with the skeleton ball rolling heading towards the boss. Also there is a gate you can open by the bridge with all those skeleton soldiers.

Started playing this due to the 'early access,' so to speak. It's my first Souls game (though I played BB for about 10 hours.) I'm really enjoying it, though holy cats is
Vordt of the Boreal Valley
making my life difficult.

Boreal Valley is beautiful. Dat
anor londo
great moment. I need some kind of slab I guess to fully upgrade my sword that was using twinling titanite to upgrade. Guessing they all come late game.

10 hours in and am loving every minute so far. Feels good to be playing this at release (well, before but you know what I mean) and there being next to no guides online yet. Even the wiki is sparse as hell.

One thing I'd like to mention which is totally unrelated, the Xbox controllers use like no battery power. I'm on the same double a's I put in when I started the game. Coming off a PS4 binge the past 6 months, this is crazy!
Crazy how the roles reversed this generation. Last gen my PS3 controller would last for at least a week before needing a charge while my Xbox 360 controller would die in 5 minutes.

So, I'm near the church and my character has some nasty hollow action going on. My sunbros icon is all cracked an on fire, in a bad way. Is this curse? is there any way to see that in game, icon aside?
