It has been an honour, and a privilege, to post with yall. I'll be very sad on the day this thread dies.

All these posts contain reasons why they like Iron Man 3 and Thor 2.

you'll never get to post anywhere else buddy boy.

I hope you enjoy your solitude in the COMIC BOOK THREAD.

I hear they've got prune juice and hard boiled eggs.

To the creator of Sad Ben Affleck video in here who last night when it was at three million views said 'it'll die off tomorrow' - I've woke up this morning, it's at six million.

Lol

Edit: shit, its at 7million the thumbnail hadn't updated

What I find interesting fom reading reactions from other websites is that alot of people who hated man of steel actually like Dawn of Justice. Kinda strange. Such a polarising film.

Hey, anybody hear BronsonLee has 124 posts in this thread? 124 posts! That's 124 posts from BronsonLee. That's as many as twelve tens.

You son of a bitch

you'll never get to post anywhere else buddy boy.

*projectile vomit*

I legit don't even remember posting that much though. Did I black out and just go on a posting spree of death?!

Just please stop comparing this pile of garbage with Iron Man 3. The only sin of that movie was having edgy trailers and endgy fans that wanted dark knight Mandarin. As a movie is so fucking good and at worst you could say it follows the basics of storytelling. BvS is Star Wars prequel level of madness.

I just woke up to discover this fact.

Flabbergasted.

That is the first time I've heard someone describe Iron Man 3 as "so fucking good."

I thought it was somewhat decent, but it overstayed its welcome and I also don't like manic, unhinged Lex. Batfleck and Jewish Diana were good though. It also lacks the humor and wit of most of Marvel's films. Oh and Doomsday looks like El Gigante from RE4 before and after he fell in the lava.

3 is tho. 1 and 2... not sure.

There isn't a single scene in Episode 3 or any of the prequels where I could say "That scene was okay" or "that would've been way more effective if they had just cut or tweaked this last line" or something. I could say that instead for atleast enough parts of BvS that I'd say it's inherently way better than any of the prequels. Those needed almost complete rewrites from the bottom-up.

worst movie i've seen in a really long time.

Batman: I hate you sooo much Superman, i'm going to kill you!
Superman: Martha..
Louise Lane: It's his mother.
Batman: I help you save your mother my friend.

I'm going to see this today, but is there any chance that the directors cut does for this what it did with Kingdom of Heaven, where it makes an aggressively mediocre film into a pretty cool one?

Like is this all Snyder or is it possibly the studio fucking around with his movie as well?

I dont think that another 30 Minutes will do this movie any favor

The most you can hope for is a completely new edited version of the movie that paces it out better. The puzzle pieces are all there it's just not assembled correctly.

Went in with low expectations and this managed to fail to meet them. Unbelievable that there was ever positive impressions from this, the whole thing is a chaotic mess with no rhyme or reason.

Diana was ok but had a total of like 7 minutes screen time.

Extremely disappointed.

I'm late with this, but...

This is a very odd definition of "throwing" someone into the propeller as some were saying Cap did, because I'm not seeing that here (he kills on occasion, as one would expect of a WWII soldier, but that guy getting blended was his own fault).
Lol people are reaching this far now?

One guy hangs on (Cap) and one fails to and gets minced and it's a push?

Also while I know close to zero about comic tone for Cap he's a soldier in WW2. I wouldn't bat an eyelid if he kills in that context. It would be like expecting Indiana Jones not to kill.

The whole killing thing s a red herring anyway. The issue is weak narrative, weak script, some very uneven performances, mediocre editing and some frankly bizarre cuts, and some of the poorest, laziest internal logic I've had to endure since a Bay transformers film. This movie is a textbook for the evil of not having any internal logic or consistency for your characters behaviour or how the plot progresses.

One thing that is accurate with this GIF is BvS is exactly like the results of that guy going through the prop: a bloody mess.

Cap kills bad guys in this though. He throws a dude into a plane propeller if I remember correctly.

I'm totally fine with that, but why is Snyder catching flak when Batman or Superman does the same?

If you're actually serious...

Ethically, considerations for self-defense and reasonable escalation of force have to take into account the capabilities of the person in question. A little old lady being accosted by a group of five thugs is more justified using a weapon and potentially deadly force to defend herself than a three hundred pound 20-something with a group of five friends who gets punched in the face by a 12 year old, right?

Captain America has limited options in that scene for dealing with the situation without killing the person.

Superman has effectively unlimited options for dealing with most situations without killing anyone. He's always going to face more scrutiny as a result. The argument for him killing Zod is one you can make; the argument for him pasting a normal criminal with a gun (rather than just, you know, melting the bolt on the gun with light-speed heat vision or something) is almost completely impossible to manage.

Batman
is easily the worst in this, because he actively chooses to apply a death sentence when it is no longer a case of necessary self-defense. He's a straight-up murderer and the methodology used is moral narcissism and blatant cowardice of the most disgusting variety.

I think the actual argument about whether Superman or Batman should or should not kill is boring. It is so boring that the only thing more boring is the static depiction of Superman as a total boy scout with perfect morality. Why is the argument boring? Because it doesn't matter. character changes in adaptations can always be justified if the writing is good enough and if there is a good point being made. The problem isn't that a superhero kills people, the problem is when there is a disconnect between a character's actions and how those actions are depicted. Just like how the problem with MoS' ending isn't that Superman kills Zod. That in itself can be justified. It is how the scene was depicted that is laughable.

some friends want to go see it at IMAX, and I'm refusing to stand in line for an hour like we did for Star Wars. not for this.

I agree with this!

We need the drop the whole "hero never kills" schtick

Its ok to explore other themes. Daredevil and Arrow have been wearing me out with this shit

Funny though that seeing Batman slaughter guys took me off guard at first. Some shit is just so ingrained

Biggest reaction I ever saw in a movie was Rocky IV. Whole theater went apeshit when Rocky went off on Drago.

I'm pretty sure the two drunk dudes in front of me thought they were watching a real fight.

The Raid movies were where the audience lost their shit. The best kills in both movies had the audience losing their shit. The Mad Dog fight at the end of the first one, the doorway scene, the car reversing in Raid 2, the use of a baseball bat near the end of Raid 2.
