Dark Souls III [Import OT] Kindle the fire, one last time

Game complete. Just missing the Nameless King for all 19 bosses.

Absolutely amazing game. Having played all 5 in the series in the past 12 months, this has to be the best experience, best music, and best bosses.

Yeah I'm pretty much in the same boat, I got all the trophies for DeS, BB and DaS2:SotFS in the past 12 months, and replayed through DaS1. DaS3 is the best. I have a few bosses left (I already beat the final boss though, and it was fucking amazing). My favourite boss is P

so far I think. He looks badass, he's challenging, he's just pure fun to fight, and that
before-image in the second phase
is such a cool concept.

Just curious but how long did it take you to beat the game?

Alternative hypothesis: it's his second time playing.

No. Damage enemies did is much lower on the unpatched version. I've seen it with my own eyes and Peeve said the same. How is this hard to understand?

Also Peeve has played thousands of hours of Souls games, I'm pretty sure he'd be able to tell if there's a difference.

His word on something isn't really worth that much. Just do damage comparisons (same everything, see if there's a difference in dealt/taken dmg) so we can lay this to rest.

I wonder how the story is though and the lore bits and all that. I've seen some (seemingly) pretty random shit thrown in from previous games
Especially Solaire's set
of which I have no clue how they could reconcile that with the lore of the game(s). Do you get any answers in that regard at all or is it too vague currently (especially with Japanese text)?

Always love those veiled-promise PR speak statements about 'various optimization' or however they phrased it. Always that pinch vague enough to imply it may address the actual game performance to give you a little hope but never committing to anything for some easy weaseling out later when nothing is fixed.

The real Bamco starts here.

I wouldn't know sorry, I can't read Japanese and never really cared about the lore in the series to be honest.

I just woke up and a tear went down my chin

I remembered the final boss in this game

and the song that plays

it's that good

Show the numbers or someone will argue that the scale or shape of the life bar differs between versions.

Also tested how? They shot you once? Be clear about your method so others can try it too.

I'm not saying this because I don't believe you, I just want the test to be clear to everyone.

Yoshi how would you rank this game in the soul series?

No ranking until I feel like I can do it!

I'll have to wait until I beat the game a few times, NG+ has been going really well (and fast)!

Then I want to play the PC-version as well.

I'm overwhelmed with one optional area and disappointed with another

the dragon area is awesome. great level design and it's the brightest area in the series which is good and it's already one of my all time favorite areas in the serie

the demon area was shit. the little swampy place with worm were cool, but the majority was another chalice dungeon. at the very least I was expecting something like demon ruins :(

Getting more inventive I see. Which version are you playing?

I mainly play PS4 version because I can play online there right now. My buddy plays the Xbox One version. I rolled the same character and got so many fire bombs at the beginning that I literally put them to junk. I never had that occur with my PS4 character. Same thing with dropping weapons. Could have been luck, but From also said that balancing is not 100% in the game with version 1.0.

I. Saw. It. He. Saw. It. Are you fucking dense or what?

Believe what you want, I'm done arguing with idiots.

It's not fucking hard to understand. We're talking enemies and bosses doing less damage by a factor of 2-3, not like, 10%. Like 200-300%.

Ok, can someone on PS4 create a new character go up to the first guy with the crossbow (just before Cemetery of Ash), get hit by an arrow (not in the head) and post a screenshot of the HP before and after?

So are they doing a patch right now or is this just a server maintenance? Doesn't matter THAT much to me since going offline will keep me from being tempted to summon. :v

You need to use the upright with legs crossed sitting emote next to that stone dragon in the tower of latria looking area with those weird women wearing branding irons
.

Hmm, I've just searched through the entire area and can't find a stone dragon - Is in the cell area? Or anywhere near the giant? Or is it on the other side of that tower where you fight these stone gargoyles?

LOL, if that were true then people playing on PS4 would be getting 1shot from everything.

Glad to hear it! My time to complete Dark Souls was over 60 hours, and then more with getting all the armor I wanted, etc.

How long did it take you to best Ds3?

People playing the Xbox 1 Version are definitely playing the nerfed version. Easiest way to tell is taking a hit from the Uchigatana guy at the Hub.

I was watching ManVSGame yesterday and the enemy would take about 4-5 hits to kill him where ppl who were on the PS4 version got killed in about 2 or 3.

If youve been paying any attention to other players it wouldnt be hard to tell.

when i see a summon sign i ask for them to come and accept but then nothing happens :/ being all japanese text aint helping me to see what it says

edit: nevermind

Nah, it's clear that you just have no idea what proof actually means.

Why would I ever give a fuck what you saw? I want to see it with my own eyes.

I want to see a video comparison of PS4 and Xbone versions against the first boss.

Same. Just want to see proof which should be easy to do for someone with both versions.
I actually expected standard mob HP to be the thing that's nerfed, if anything. It just seems like standard mobs are too easy.

xbox one version is supposed to be a preview build that they made easier

If that is even true, surely it will be patched. But at any rate, I watched a stream for a few hours yesterday and seen a guy getting destroyed in 1-2 shots by certain enemies and they definitely did not go down easy, either.

Now I know what you guys meant - the place where that stone thing and these other characters are sitting, right? Problem is, I tried all the gestures I have now and nothing ever happens :(

Just watch this(xb1)

https://youtu.be/SnGkJqRc-Po?t=5m27s

yeah this is strange I'm pretty sue I was taking way more damage than this

also compare to to Vaat's video

https://youtu.be/fhaZKVT8jPU?t=5m12s

it sure looks nerfed.

Some of the posts in here have claimed the beginning of the game is easy, but having beat Demon's Souls and Dark Souls I feel like some of the enemies in this game are more difficult? The enemies at the beginning of the game with the red capes are harder than the blue and red eyed knights at the beginning of Demon's Souls at least. Harder to avoid and just roll out of attacks, plenty of stamina. I know I suck, but I had an easier time with those games (and managed to beat some of the red phantoms, which appeared beginning of the game due to a Halloween related dark world tendency event, seemingly 1 HP at a time).

After trying to take on the red eyed knight with the blue outfit a number of times I managed to get some new armor, only to discover it's too heavy for me to wear it. : (

Why would I ever give a fuck what you saw? I want to see it with my own eyes.

So one of the most respected and knowledgeable Souls experts of the community speaking from experience isn't proof? Okay then. It's what a court would call an expert witness.

But by all means, continue dismissing first and second hand eye-witness reports because... I don't know why. Why is this hard to believe? The unpatched version is easier. By a lot. Pontiff Suleyvan would take off like over half my health with his jumping attack in heavy armor, he'd do like 20-25% of Peeve's HP with the same move wearing less armor and with the same vitality. Again, it's not a minor difference.

Now I'm really done trying to convince people. I don't really care if you believe it, I'm just pissed a bunch of people here are gaslighting all over the place.

Well go do that, and let us know what you find.

I would love to, but I can't afford buying the game three times unfortunately.

Someone gift me the game on ps4 and xbone and I'll do the most in depth comparisons you'll ever see.

Well, it sounds like such a weird thing to do that of course it's a bit hard to believe. I'm sure he's great and all, but people make mistakes, and I'm not the only one who wants video proof (which is real easy to come up with if you have the consoles and the game for both) so if you want this discussion to end, we're gonna need a video/gif to post every time someone asks about it. I don't know you so of course I'm not gonna blindly believe what you say, but a video doesn't lie. Not sure what's so hard to understand about that.
