Can anyone direct me to (hidden area)where the area I need to use the emote to get in is?
Reposting for new page. Anyone?
Fair enough. I'm gonna go back to halo 5 until they patch it then. For the naysayers who doubted there was a damage difference between unpatched 1.00 (English XBone) and 1.01 (all the other versions): http://imgur.com/a/r4yMj
Yep. It was REALLY obvious as you are playing too.
Can anyone tell me if the game has areas that don't look similar to Bloodborne? So far, everything I've seen the game looks very much like Bloodborne. The other Dark Souls games had so many varied areas, and great use of color. All I see in the early footage is desaturated and reused assets(which is fine if the doll them up to look different).
Funny, I like DS more than Bloodborne, not necessarily in setting but in terms of game pacing and weapon / armor variety.
It all depends on what you're looking for in your Souls game.
Dark Souls III is better in everything besides uniqueness of locations and maybe lore.
Gameplay-wise is a lot better.
Bosses-wise they're on par.
One more hidden area question:
Is there a boss somewhere in the second firelink shrine? I killed Gundyr of course, is there something I'm missing?
For PS4 import players -- how would you rate the difficulty of the game, in comparison to other Souls games so far?
I'm personally playing the X1 version, so I'd like to hear what people think about the difficulty from the "patched" experience.
I have noticed that Bonfires are more plentiful, about 10 hours in.

To be fair the similar color pallette and lighting solution (probably an engine thing) makes it look more similar to Bloodborne in screenshot and video form that it actually feels, in my experience. I only once felt like "this reminds me of Bloodborne", and it was an early game area that reminded me of Hemwick. Outside of that, it's very much Dark Souls 1, though I feel the actual design of the level layouts and the game progression is more Bloodborne-esque, though it's very open and expansive throughout, like Bloodborne's early game moreso than the late game.
I don't really look for anything specifically as long as it's good, I like both "styles." Bloodborne won me over because I preferred the faster-paced gameplay, art direction and horror tone.
Sweet, sounds fantastic.
For real tho where's the door that opens from stopping the fires...
SMH, starting to get real tired of people asking this same question every page.
Yes, the first few areas (which are all Bamco are technically letting everyone see for now) are less interconnected than DS1. It's more like bloodborne for the first 3rd of the game or so, then it openss up. However you can warp between bonfires at the start so while there's shortcuts and hidden areas, it's a lot easier to get around.
There's plenty of color, and tons of new assets, don't worry.

True, but similar engine / color scheme != bloodborne, and it bugs me when people are asking Dark Souls to play like it. I like there being a difference.
The prison. there is a statue of a dragon man sitting outside of the room with countless curse ladies

I'm stuck again.
I've killed.Aldrich
I dunno where to go to keep goung with the main quest.
I'm a retard :/ thanks hahaIt's in the same area, not far. Just run around and you'll bump into it.

Okay...
Is there any other bonfire in? I've been wandering around here for 40 minutes, ran out of flasks and am now in frontCathedral of the Deepof a fog door after running past the giants in that swamp area.
Man, 10 hours in and my mind is blown by how good the game is compared to Dark Souls 2. And as I've heard the game just gets better and better later on..
This game should've been Dark Souls 2

Lol, holy shit. Better finish it before the patch rolls out.For the naysayers who doubted there was a damage difference between unpatched 1.00 (English XBone) and 1.01 (all the other versions): http://imgur.com/a/r4yMj
Bloodborne was my favorite Souls.

I am watching the Japanese Xbox One version and there is nothing nerfed about it, lol. Link is above. So yeah, I am guessing this is what I can expect when it officially releases here in America.Lol, holy shit. Better finish it before the patch rolls out.
I'll bump this for you. I'd like answers to some of these too.Hey guys, few build questions:
1. Any way to respec?
2. Any 'smart' caps to stop at for each stat, like the previous games, 20, 40 vigor, etc, so on? Assume I'm playing a dex/roll fighter.
So like 40 vigor, 40 end, etc, what should I gun for?
3. What's the earliest 100% shield? I heard it's the earlybut I've killed over 20 with no luck.black knights
4. I just beat. How many Estus should I have? I have only 4 right now.Vordt of the Boreal Valley

Yeah, DSIII is a bit slower paced and you probably aren't going to get the same tone, but there's some art influences and mechanics changes that take from bloodborne.
I loved BB combat too, and I thought it would be difficult to go back, and oh boy, I was wrong. I mean, IS NOT BB, but is the best combat on the series, a more refined and faster version with incredible well designed enemies. It really is DS mix with BB.
In terms of art direction and horror tone, while not as prominent, obviously, you'll love DS3. Seriously.
I can't believe how good it is, seriously, my hype was through the roof and the game is beating all my expectations.
NG+ done.
Hmm...

Are you human? Good lord!

No, he's not. I don't think he sleeps or eats, for starters.
Anyone else rolling with just a great sword and no shield? You can block with them but I'm sure this impacts durability.
Any downsides to this? Should I use a shield as well?
