FTFY.The MK 42 is a humpty dumpty of an armor that literally breaks into pieces at his feet the moment the battle seems lost, then barely puts itself together to try and save the day. It works at a visual and thematic level. And to sell many toys.

No, it's the Mark 46. Tony's suit at the end of AoU was the Mark 45.Tony's Civil War suit isn't the same from the end of AoU, is it? That's ugly but Civil War's is quite nice. Can't tell if the presentation that's helping.
The Hulkbuster suit makes sense, but the suit switch in the final third of Age of Ultron was probably the most gratuitously dispensable one of the entire IM/Avengers series. At least in previous films they gave a reason, no matter how flimsy, as to why Tony switches to a new suit. AoU didn't even try. A throwaway line would've sufficed.
I'm willing to bet that most general audiences didn't notice the difference. If I weren't such a nerd about these things, I doubt I would've either, they're fairly similar at a glance.

^ but looking at them closely, I wish they had just had Tony use the newer suit on the right for the entire movie. It's slick as hell.
What's it matter? And you know the armor was probably tweaked after facing Ultron in the ship so that it was better suited for battle.
I get the feeling that there was a deleted scene where Ultron takes over Tony's armor. That's why the Hot Toys figure has a "Battle Damaged Head with red eyes". That's probably also why the armor change feels so extraneous. A change like that is bound to feel unnecessary when you remove the reasoning behind it.It matters because I like the technical details. If there was a reason, I wanna know why. It's as simple as that.
Iron Man 2 was actually pretty good about the power increase. They gave him the one off after all. Age of Ultron was the worst about the armor though. There was no justification, outside of toy merchandise sales, for him to upgrade his armor. That was really when I thought they jumped the Iron Man armor shark. Iron Man 3 came close to pushing it though, where a lot of the armors were functionally similar but aesthetically different.

Where are those suits from? They look really great. I only noticed the change from Iron Man 1's suit to Iron Man 2's suit.

Oh wow. So there's a very high chance that there's a cut scene of Ultron taking over his suit for them to write a reactionary scene like that. There's a deleted scene where Tony overnights a chip to Rhodey that prevents Ultron from taking over their suits.
There's also a promo art for the movie that gave the indication that Ultron would have taken over the Mark 43 suit.I had no idea what you were referring to so I looked it up. Huh, this is really interesting.

Nothing on the AoU blu ray about a cut scene with the red eyed helmet?
also, that's a nice looking action figure.
Age of Ultron. The one on the left is the same as the main suit from Iron Man 3, just with a repaint.
There's also a promo art for the movie that gave the indication that Ultron would have taken over the Mark 43 suit.
Seems like it was something that would have explained the switch in suits but it got cut.
I try not to. Iron Man has some fever dream ass stories and art.Remember that storyline in comics where Ironaman's armor became sentient and wanted to fuck him?

“Steve’s become the caretaking parent and Bucky is more of an unstable child now — someone who’s really struggling to have more of a sense of identity and is totally lost and confused with who he is.”
Capt using the same suit from Winter Soldier or Age of Ultron?
Same or almost identical to Ultron. They finally settled on one.
The color way is mix of the AoU and WS outfit. They took the AoU outfit and stripped it of its red/white on the chest and bicep.Capt using the same suit from Winter Soldier or Age of Ultron?

No, but I want to know.
I want to know.
I read that as Sentinel wanted to fuck him.

His Winter Soldier stealth suit for reference:
The AOU suit was already a derivation of that, and the Civil War suit is kind of a hybrid of the AOU and stealth suits. They've gotten to a good place with Cap's suit.
I dont think Caps original Avengers outfit looks that bad. Without the helmet, it looks great.
I know this is a page late but I'm pretty sure ScarJo got breast reduction surgery due to developing back problems.
Aren't we going to get a new costune for cap in civil war, with the chain mail look? Or am I just dreaming that up?
The chainmail look is probably stuff they prototyped but never used. Remember that Avengers Cap promo art that showed his ears? There have been some product/publicity art which features Cap wearing the scale mail.
I'm guessing he gets itafter Black Panther joins Team Cap.
Chain mail look? What is this?
I also accidentally clicked on that spoiler. Stupid me.
That was a spoiler though. As I had no ideaI don't think that's an actual Spoiler. Although considering the characterIts pretty much guarantee that Black Panther doesn't really care about Tony's argument or the accords, and he just allied with him because their goals align. He seems to be after Bucky specifically, which is why he is against Cap.
Yeah I remember that image. I don't see any difference? Is it the grey on his shoulders? Here's some chain mail:

That was a spoiler though. As I had no idea. I'm not reading your spoiler either sorry.that Black Panther would switch teams
[edit] okay I read your spoiler. All of that is obvious yes.
