Miitomo |OT| A new way of COMMUnication

I've been using the app since its launch here in Japan for the past week. It is really good fun and very interesting. The delay is a bit shitty as I want more friends on my friend list.

But I did make a video for people who are waiting on the app's release and are interested in downloading it. If you are interested in knowing more about or a kind of review of the app, you can check out my video here. I talk about the main points that have stuck out for me whilst using it.

Now wait a second. Something had been bothering me about that 'how many flowers do you see blooming in your mind' question since it seems everyone got asked that at around the same time. It's like perhaps we influence eachother by all imagining the same thing at around the similar time, feels like a social experiment and makes me think of Zero Escape's
morphogentic field experiments
lol. I might just be too obsessed with Zero Time Dilemma.
 
It's gonna be this week for sure. The initial Twilight Princess Picross leak giving that a March 31th release date confirmed as much.
 
Ok cool. Looks like Nintendo is following Capcom and barely making these March release times :^)

Regardless, looking forward to it!
 
I played around with the japanese, but fully translated version, it's kinda nice but also kinda weird, and I don't wanna connect to my MyNintendo thingie yet.

It's weird that everything, including events, text-to-speech and news is already translated in German, but the app isn't available yet.

This happened before, the ambassador games came out at the latest possible moment too so I'm not surprised.
It's weirder here due to the app being fully translated, but still not surprised.

I've been holding off on it the past few days waiting for the worldwide launch and I've kinda forgotten all about it now...
 
I just changed my Mii's name from my real name (Max) to Dystify. I expect more friends on the app when it releases in the west so using Dystify should make it more obvious as to who that Mii is. :P
Sadly there's not enough space to include both my real and online name.
 
Yeah it's not happening, it'll probably be released mid-April so the West will get 2 weeks of launch bonus like in Japan.
Sorry to be pessimistic >.<
 
With March deleted from the website, I expect Miitomo to be delayed to April. Maybe some issues with the servers / backend or My Nintendo rollout?

I wouldn't necessarily take too much stock in the UK website change. I think they want to be able to say in their fiscal year brief that the app launched in the West before the end of the fiscal year. Especially with the initial delay. I suppose something could have happened to cause a further delay but I imagine Nintendo is doing everything they can to avoid that.

No sign? Aside from the big pink logo saying "March 2016" being removed? That's a pretty big sign.

Also the fact that it's now March 28th and we've heard nothing.

Replaced with a video that still says Late March 2016.
Also the website source code still says March 2016.

You can say it's delayed once it's April and if it's still not released.

And it would be great to not make up BS like "eShop UK database has changed TP Picross release date to TBD".

The video was up since the 17th. It hasn't replaced anything, I don't know why some people think it's new.

Please don't make up BS.

Never said it was new. lol
I meant that if Nintendo wanted to use "Coming Soon" instead of "Late March", they had the occasion to do so, like the French video that says "Coming Soon". But it was that way back then as well.

EDIT: Perhaps on March 31st, Miitomo and My Nintendo will be released for NA. But not Europe.

EDIT2: I just checked, and something did struck me: European videos says "Coming soon" (including UK), American videos says "Late March 2016" (even in Canada French).
Really hope that Nintendo will still release Miitomo worldwide on the same date, else that would really be shitty.

EDIT3:
US English Miitomo FAQ: "The My Nintendo rewards program is a Nintendo Account service that launches at the same time as Miitomo."
GB English Miitomo FAQ: "My Nintendo is a rewards programme planned for launch in March 2016."

That implies that My Nintendo will be launched in Europe before Miitomo?

Sorry if I get too carried away when people say stuff that didn't happen and others believe it.

Also I just checked the My Nintendo part in the European Nintendo Direct: It's still like My Nintendo would launch this month, but also Miitomo not being released at the same time. That's really weird because the wording really implies that. I hope I'm wrong.

EDIT: And a few moments later, Miitomo now has that pink bubble saying March 2016 worldwide again.

My country isn't part of the Miitomo rollout, but at least I'll get My Nintendo now. Wonder if I'll be able to link my Swedish Nintendo Account to Miitomo, I hope so.

The 'last chance to pre-register' pending release was last week.
Clearly it was supposed to come out then.

I'm free after 2PM on Thursday and hoping it's ready by then, please don't keep the UK waiting until the evening Shibata!
 
I noticed the server messages on Miitomo are in English now. Guess that was a good sign leading up to today's March 31st announcement.
 
The US page now says launching 31st and the preregister button says you have up until 1:00am PT on the 31st to preregister.
 
In addition to Twitter, how do you add friends in this? If you know someone else who has it can you send them a friend invite or something?

Hmm... Idk. I always wanted to do that with Snapchat, but they always log you out when you open the app on another device. Then you have to re-enter your e-mail and password..

Hopefully this won't be the case with Miitomo.
