Coach Nick on point as usual. Lots of fans are stuck in the stone age when it comes to judging NBA defense. "He just dribbled past him, dood is trash on defense!!!"

What I didn't really notice was how deceptively strong Steph is at bodying up guys trying to post him and how he never hesitates to box out bigs even if it isn't his check (he's always been a good rebounder at the guard position).. All that dead lifting really paid off.

he's an elite team defender though

Isiah Thomas would be an elite team defender if he was on the warriors. Your point is moot and means jack all.

And Coach Nick is one of the biggest Warrior nitriders so I'd take his ridiculous claim with a grain of salt

Elite team defense isn't just about having other good defenders on the floor with you. It's about proper positioning, help and recovery. Anyone on the floor can be bad at it and it weakens the entire defense even if the rest are good defenders who are executing a good scheme well.

Did you watch the video? Did you take a look at his defensive numbers? I don't think it's a stretch to argue based on everything that Curry is an elite defender at the pg position.

Sports is like religion. People believe what they want and that's up to them. The only difference is that the disbelief of the facts are just out and out wrong.

Basically you can show someone 100000 videos of Curry playing great defense and you can show them the stats but people will believe whatever they want at the end of the day. Especially for Curry because if people admit he's a good defender then that puts him into top 10-20 all time range and many people aren't ready for that.

All your stats and clips don't fit my narrative...therefore, invalid.

I think some people see "elite" and freak out like Nick is saying he's Gary Payton.

All he's really saying is that Curry is intelligent, usually in good position off the ball, and gives good effort on the ball. That doesn't mean he can't get beat or that he's on point 100% of the time.

Of course he isn't Gary Payton...he's Michael Jordan...

ok I'm kidding...but Steph's a really good defender now.

You want me to believe Curry is "very good at worst" at defense when his team gives its opponents 105ppg and has given more points than the Knicks and the Bucks since the start of the season?

Yeah right...

They play at a faster pace than the rest of the league (thus more possessions).. Opposing fg% is the more accurate stat...

That's the result of fast-paced gameplay. Their opponents get lots of possessions because the Warriors score so much.

Also Curry is due for a big game, he's been slouching the last week or two.

This is trolling, right? People who have serious basketball discussions in 2016 understand pace of play and why per game stats are worthless, right?

Warriors are fifth in defensive efficiency, much more useful indicator of defense (and even that is imperfect when we're talking about an individual's defense).

You expect us to take your argument seriously when you don't seem to understand why modern sports analytics provide pace-adjusted numbers?

Yeah right...

Woo! This young Boston team made an all time statement tonight. Best regular season game of the year. Wish I was with Simmons.

Hope my 76ers can show such heart in the next 100 years. Curry sucks. Peace out!

Us fans don't get overly caught up in the moment or anything?

They really should have lost the Utah game but missed rebounds and dropping back the three line a bit before on curry lost it in the 4th.

Should be interesting to see how San Antonio goes.
