Final Fantasy XV: Platinum Demo Thread

I think this made me more worried about the game, not less. Sure, it looks and sounds great but I'd expect that from any modern Final Fantasy at this point. The combat is still a mess, either boring as hell (regular enemies) or just clunky (the boss). And this was over with so quickly that it barely felt like I played anything. Really just a tech demo more than anything else. Disappointing.

Oh pls, this thing looks like an ugly rat. Trico is hella cuter.

lol, bye. at least this has a release date now.

First of all a big wtf. It's a dream sequence I know, but uhhh ok.

I don't understand the combat. At one point during the iron giant fight I was doing Ariel attacks for some reason.

The warp jump up to the ledge makes you hold triangle it seems. I used my left hand to control the camera and for some reason I did a warp strike.

Thats what they said we'd be getting for a while now.

Finished the demo. I thought Duscae 2.0 was way better, but I definitely enjoyed the more varied environments in this one. This seems more like a tech demo than anything else.

There are two hidden weapons at the final boss that are pretty cool, other than that it seemed pretty cool outside of some visual bugs and slowdown when interacting with physics based stuff.

Not sure what those crystals were for, especially the hidden ones.

FoV is still a bit weird though

What system?

PS4. Just adding my thoughts, what little simple combat there is felt better than Duscae thanks to the new button placement and better camera. Some weirdness with the autoattacking of Noctis just running infinitely at the enemy and not starting his attack even though I'm holding circle. Music is amazing.

Dunno really, too brief to make any big judgment about the game. I'm honestly not sure why this exists. Too short to sell anyone on the game and too bare mechanically to please anyone who played Duscae.

The demo literally prompts you to buy the game when you finish it.

Whole thing left a bad taste in my mouth. What was the point of collecting the glowing shards? Visuals were pretty good but the combat is just meh.

There are like...3 locked plates before you reach the final area. I wonder if there's a way to unlock them after a playthrough.

One of the most beautiful games ever.
Just really hope it will be jag free at the end of release.
For me resolution is one of the most important things graphics wise.

Discouraged to hear people are not enjoying the demo. My download has like three hours left.

I loved Duscea 1.0 and 2.0

I'm sold on the game already but sounds like this isn't changing anyone's mind.

I think people expected Duscae and are dissapointed with a tech demo (which is what this is).

This was nice to play as it runs better then Duscae but those first two demos were far better in terms of selling you on the actual game.

Look at it like a Tech Demo and not like Episode Duscae and you should be fine.

It's not particularly long and the camera is still dogshit, but it looks fantastic and it's fun just to explore a bit.

I really feel like they should of just released an updated version of the original demo, there are things I like about this but the combat felt way to simple because you have nothing to do outside of hitting circle since you don't really have any abilities or the teleporting stuff, the environments are nice but are super small overall which could lead to people not following the games development getting the wrong impression of XVs scope.

It just feels like a weird thing to release to the general public when they have another demo that seems like a far better representation of the actual game. I think this demo could turn more people off then convince them to buy the game.

Yeah, it's like a 20-30 minute tech demo to show off the various in-game graphical systems such as weather, day/night cycles, physics, etc...

You can, however, replay the boss battle as many times as you want. And it does get harder, but you can't die.

The demo was enjoyable for what it was. It has to be said though: the frame rate is balls. It barely ever hits 30. This is NOT acceptable when it releases.

So far, I've found nothing hidden, finished the demo in less than 40 minutes. this is...disappointing, to say the least.
I mean there will be people that will have taken more time to download the thing than to actually finish it. o.O

Interesting demo to choose for people to play. I really liked messing around with the warping in the short time I had. I feel like the fill game will be awesome once we can utilize all of our warping abilities.

Fun little demo. Combat with kid noct was kinda boring, but Adult Noct was a lot more fun. Thought the physics and the ambient interactions were a cool way to show off, as well as the transformations.
Depending on how Square does the loot, as well as enemy variance this seems like a game that could be fun the entire time, or become a grind after 30 hours. We'll see I guess. Anyway, this is the Versus XIII we've been waiting on this whole time so I'm in for the ride regardless.

Yeah, I agree. I hate to say it, but if they released Duscae and just put in the updated combat system and some new magic spell items floating around the map I think it would be a great demo. But then I'd be playing Duscae for the 3rd time and that would probably annoy some people.
