Final Fantasy XV: Platinum Demo Thread

How do you replay the boss fight?

Run past the platinum plate and there will be another plate to resummon the boss, this time at level 15 instead of level 3.

Yeah, it's like a 20-30 minute tech demo to show off the various in-game graphical systems such as weather, day/night cycles, physics, etc...

You can, however, replay the boss battle as many times as you want. And it does get harder, but you can't die.

Hmm, I expected it to go the other way as far as replay would go: those animals in the trailer made me assume that there would be microtransactions and minitasks to entertain and interact with your pet while you waited for September.

I must suck at this game, that boss was wrecking me. Once I learned fire it got easier tho lol. Couldnt dodge attacks for the life of me.

So far all I've found are just cute side things to unlock with no huge purpose like
some soccer balls and a small car to drive

I found the car too haha.

For real though, what's up with the battle system? I didn't play Duscae so I had no idea what to expect, but the battle at the end was incredibly dull. Hold O, hold □, and repeat.

Eh I get this was a tech demo and while yes it's pretty I was not feeling it much. I guess I need to get used to the battle system more cause I dunno it just felt weird. Magic was pretty cool tho.

Love the art, music and the feel of the world. Still not sold on the combat though. Will magic just be regulated to items??
I am open to try something new but I'd love it if the combat was turned based.

To me, it felt like a last gen game if that makes any sense. It was the game feel most of the time combined with the awkward frame rate. The last fight gave me hope because I imagine with practice, that battle system will be crazy awesome, but I hope it can get there technically. Played on PS4 btw.

EDIT: Also music was fantastic, agree with many.

Nah, unless you just want to wander big empty environments and use a pretty simple single hammer strike to kill a few enemies you'll probably beat it in 15-20 minutes.

There are interesting things that allow you to interact with the environment but this won't last anyone a day, let alone a few months.

The IQ and framerate leave alot to be desired. Here's hoping that its on Steam day 1 so my Titan X can take a crack at it.

Also not sure about the combat yet, but its serviceable I suppose

Why are the graphics so average? It's really evident in the hair... wow.. Is this game going to bankrupt Square/Enix? Seems like a poor mans Dark Souls.

I agree it's bad but I'm not writing off the final release just yet.

There's been significant improvement over the last demo and I expect further refinement before release.

This demo was a couple of linear hallways and a final fight with one enemy in an empty arena. I'm not as hopeful for when they bring it out to bigger areas.

Think it was a horrible idea to release this as a free demo to the masses.

Duscae was so much better in letting people come to experiment with the combat.

Select the top sword, look at the building you came out if to start the section and warp to the point up there. Then warp attack the boss for like 3x damage. It was pretty easy, even the level 15 version.

I'm honestly surprised anyone can look at that game and say the graphics are average. The IQ is dogshit but everything else is at the top-end for AAA games.

This isn't even actually part of the main game, this is a completely seperate thing they made as a demo instead of just releasing a chunk like they did for the first demo

The final area was similar to areas in Duscaea that had terrible FPS, just without the companions.

I think that's pretty comparable.

And same with some of the sections as kid noc. Definitely comparable.

Sorry, just no.... I really do feel like the graphics just aren't on par with other games this genre.

I thought it too bad, but then I hit the final battle and was greeted with a QTE.

Bring back FF <11 please.

Aside from the character models and some good lighting here and there, the game is looking painfully average because of that horrible IQ.
