Fragmentation of the user base.
How? Same games work in either console.
No, neither does the release of a higher priced version of a graphic card in a same line (cf 980/ 980ti), so long as pricing reflects the difference in features and marketing addresses the respective audiences
How? PSVR obviously works, and works well, on PS4.
Makes exclusives for PS4 not exclusive.
Perhaps your weirdest argument. Borderline nonsensical. PS4 and PS4K are the same platform.
How so? I'd say having the very same games available on two platforms, the PS4 being made cheaper in comparison for 1080p sets, is good news. It guarantees also that the PS4 platform is there for at least another 3+ years before the next big step.
Only if marketing messes up or if you're a bit dumb maybe? PS4= 1080p TV, PS4K=4K TVs. $299 // $399 (or even $499, which is where I think they should go to emphasize the difference, with the risk of XB1.5 coming in at $399 )
Exclusives sell consoles.
Sure. And the PS4 platform has its fair share.
Screw early PS4 adopters.
Only those who had the delusion that their product of choice would be the most powerful box possibly connected to a TV for the next 4 years. By being pro active Sony is ensuring that their biggest competition is... themselves, and perenialize PS4 as the prefered mass platform for the foreseeable future.
Possibly screw early PS4K adopters.
Another head scratcher... If you mean that the PS5 would possibly come in within 3-4 years of the PS4K... Well... Duh?
Call it a PS5, update the specs again, release it in 2018/2019
Probably not gonna happen.
