Per wrestlezone - Bayley is on the mid April taping. I think Bayley and Nakamura will be the headliners for NXT for at least part of 2016.

I thought Tye got badly injured not long back? Glad that wasn't the case, love that guy.

Edit: Oh, this is taping stuff? With that and the other news, it's time to bail from the thread.

Um... we shouldn't be putting tapings spoilers out in the open. I don't watch weekly NXT but I'm guessing some folks are new to it and would like to keep watching the weekly program.

Getting all of your offense in, and STILL getting choked out did much more for both of them.
Having Asuka come in and destroy Bayley would A) Make the fans turn on Asuka B) Make Bayley look far too weak. C) When a time comes and Bayley does beat Asuka it is all completely erased where a closer match still has weight.
Just my opinion.

Hey, opinions are fine man. I respect that. We all have different feelings towards it, it's why wrestling is great!

Why shouldn't the fans turn on Asuka? Bayley is the most over person on the roster!

Bayley won't look weak though, because Asuka has steamrolled everyone else. It'll make Asuka look strong and Bayley gets her heat back in the rematch.

Hardly, it'll show the heart Bayley has and how far she's come. You only have to look at her feuds with Charlotte and Sasha to see that when done right, losses can get you over. Hell, Becky Lynch/Sasha is a perfect example of where the booking from last night works. Just IMO doesn't feel right in this scenario, Asuka is totally different to any other female. She is the equivalent of Joe/Owens.

Was NXT: London the crowd that did a "we are awesome" chant in the middle of a match?

Because fuck those guys.

Last nights crowd was a good balance between fun chanting while not going over the top try hard with it and was still getting into the matches.

Its actually funny, because I bet there's a large portion of the NXT Dallas crowd that are Brits, and it'll be the same for Raw too.

The Europeans usually make the Raw after mania special.
I've got nothing against Brits, they just made NXT:L less enjoyable for me. I'm not going to feel bad if most of WrassleGAF thinks I'm wrong. I don't care that much.

To me, the absolute worst of the crowds was last year's Raw after WM crowd. The "You suck Bryan" "You suck Cena" "You suck Punk" chants at the Bellas and AJ was the most I've ever hated a crowd.

I still will never EVER get mad at a hot crowd no matter what they chant. I've sat and seen too many shows with dead crowds afraid to make noise and the silent treatment is 5000x worse than "getting themselves over"

I think the above taping discussion was a little too close to a potential spoiler, so i'll tag this to be safe
if NXT is really touring Ireland in July, I see no way Balor isn't there.

The raw after WM is a great example of how everything gets ruined eventually.

Originally it was "this show is pretty cool because cool things usually happen right after WM and the crowd is die hards"

and now the fans there have completely made it about themselves

Neville always tours with NXT for European tours though, so it's not out the realm of possibility. Better yet, Sheamus!

That in no way precludes main roster business. Look at Neville as the prime example.

No, they were responsible for "Fuck you, Corbin" (either directed at Baron Corbin, or the crowd was heavily conservative) and "Which One's Dawson?! Which One's Dash?!"

The London and Dallas crowds both sucked. Dallas was stupid enough to co-opt creepy Bayley chants from London, so fuck that crowd.

Sometimes, these crowds need to STFU with the chants and just be in the moment enjoying awesome wrestling.

This isn't njpw bro, this is EN EX TEEEEEEEEE

No, but WWE have put swerves into tapings before. See: Sasha coming out with the NXT belt in tapings before she lost it to Bayley, in an entrance that wasn't shown.

They have done things that they haven't shown, but this isn't that.
The champion not appearing on shows (other than possibly backstage) for a month straight
is unusual to say the least. And it's not like they
can tape some match for him unbeknownst to everyone.

Last night was my first exposure to Nakamura, and I really didn't understand or like his persona much. The wrestling was some of the best I've ever seen, but his mannerisms, facial expressions and general demeanor just confused me. My wife asked me why he looked like a drunk who appeared to be shitting his pants based on his facial expressions.

I'll have to watch more of his stuff to get a feel for his character.

Maybe your wife is confused seeing a charismatic man. I think that says more about you than Nakamura.

I don't ask for New Japan crowds. Just maybe like 1985 NWA crowds. Those crowds didn't chant THIS IS AWESOME and FIGHT FOREVER at Magnum and Tully when Magnum stabbed Tully in the eye with a shard of wood. They were just like, you know, going apeshit because it was fucking awesome.

Maybe I'm biased but the London crowd was awesome.

I saw people complaining about the Zayn/Nakamura 50/50 chants earlier though (probably not here). Why?

Yep. Can't stand these dead crowds in towns that no one has ever heard of for RAW.

But I may also be biased being from the UK. We just love to sing and chant.

Exactly, what's the point in sitting around not having fun being quiet and ruining the atmosphere on TV. See, we must live in a different universe or something here. God forbid we want to go and have FUN at a show! What a novel concept!

I can't agree.
I will take any of the NXT crowds, including the Takeover crowds over Raw crowds that are either dead, or into themselves with CM Punk, JBL, and other random stupid shit, doing the wave and whatnot completely disrespecting what is going on.
So they are loud? But they are completely into it and enjoying the hell out of it.
The US version of Football crowds (Soccer for you colonists).

Changing some song lyrics and asking someone to "be your girl" is now creepy.

Because that's where we're at now.

I mean, I'd take any of the NXT crowds over a dead RAW crowd too. Any crowd that is into the product is better than one that is not. But I won't take them over a JCP or '80s WWF or World Class or Mid-South crowd. Those crowds screamed and cried and cursed because they were really into it.

On the other hand, when two wrestlers can get a crowd to stop it with soccer chants or THIS IS AWESOME or singing or whatever to actually display raw emotion, you know they're good, so at least NXT crowds are a barometer of that. Me, I hate this self-aware chanting shit so much. If you think a match is awesome, why not cheer, boo, scream, and get lost in the match?

I don't like modern WWE crowds at all, but that's me. When I go to a show to have fun, I clap, yell, cheer, boo, not chant along (well, okay, except for YES! chants because there are exceptions to everything).

Japanese crowds are quiet and I wouldn't say they ruin the show. They come off as actually paying attention to what's going on in the ring.

That's culture though. The American culture is to ruin literally anything you can manage. As a golf fan I really struggle to watch any PGA tour event because some twat is always shouting nonsense.

Not all American's obviously, but Trump is cleaning up currently and that says a bit...

Everyone hates dead crowds. Those are an F.

I just didn't like the NXT: London crowd in particular. That one gets a B-/C.

The worst crowd is one where they actively try to make the performers as miserable as possible. Hitting the wrestler, throwing shit in the ring, etc. Those don't deserve to be called wrestling crowds at all. That's a mob of dumbasses

Why can't these crowds have fun the way crowds had fun for the 1st 100 years of wrestling, by cheering the people they do like the booing the people don't like instead of making up silly chants so they get upvotes on Reddit?

Go watch an NWA show from '87 and hear the crowd in a crappy TV studio that's a few hundred people, but is showing more heat than any wrestler has in the WWE in years. If NXT crowds were like that, I'd have no issues with them.

i also think the hey baby song might not be that familiar to americans? for people from england, ireland, australia, etc, that song was massive. #1 on the charts. was the song for the 2002 world cup if i remember correctly. its just a harmless pop song that is easy to chant at sports events. fml if changing the word baby to bayley somehow makes it creepy.

Hey, I'm headed to a NXT show to sit amongst a bunch of neckbeards with their idiotic chants in a few weeks, so I can deal with it. It damages the show for me when the crowds chant like that, but whatever. It's what they do. I'll live.
