Captain America: Civil War - Final Trailer

Ultron is really a perfect candidate for recurring Avengers villain. I think the movie was well enough received (generally speaking, not on GAF) to where people would welcome another go at Ultron in Phase 4 or 5.

My ideal scenario would be a Masters of Evil movie for the Avengers movie after Infinity War, but they could have him manipulating things from the background until he's ready to attack them again.

I agree, with the exception of the fewer but more dangerous robots bit. Not because I dislike the idea, but if you did that Hawkeye and probably Black Widow would be useless in that final fight. They had to cater to the various power levels there.

Yeah, you're probably right, although in that instance you have the lower-powered Avengers fighting together against a single enemy robot. So you've got:

Vision vs the 'main' Ultron
Hulk vs one or two
Thor vs one
Iron Man vs one
Scarlet Witch & Quicksilver vs one
Cap, Widow and Hawkeye vs one

Just an idea, and obviously completely irrelevant now anyway. I just felt like the ending with the army or robots was too similar to the ending of Avengers 1, so would have preferred they go in a slightly different direction.

For the final battle i would have liked to have multiple groups with separate battles. They could have had Quicksilver and Scarlet Witch defending the switch from the drones, Hawkeye Widow and Cap helping the civilians, then have Hulk, Thor, Vision and Iron Man fighting Ultron himself. Obviously this would require his final form to be MUCH more powerful but they could have pulled it off.

That's a cool idea too; unfortunately Whedon does like his group shots...

Imagine having seen 12 Marvel movies already and still being all like: "This is your last chance Marvel! No more fun in your movies you hear me, or I will only watch the next 6 and complain about them too."

Give me a fucking break.

Ultron would make for a fantastic recurring villain in this series.

I think Avengers 2 was good. It's main issues come from having a little too much weight on it's shoulders. There are a few too many sub plots and things happening all too much at once. The quipping was never a real problem for me, I think it was handled reasonably enough. Ultron is an interesting villain as far as depths/motivations go but it is a bit hard to dissect his actual "plans" and he could have been a little more menacing for sure to balance out the protagonists. There's a whole lot of potential for him moving forward. Generally I enjoyed how the movie embraced a sort of campiness to itself. The scene where Cap rips firewood in half with his bare hands is obviously supposed to be a funny scene but it's immediately followed by a genuine, sincere message.

Yeah I can see that working. It would have been nice to see that change up from Avengers 1 as well. More of a team vs team thing instead of team vs horde situation. I think that could have worked nicely.

The problem there is that it would be a huge emotional disconnect in the final battle. It's a completely different focus from what the rest would be doing. Just not good storytelling. It would be cool if they all ganged up on one super powerful Ultron, but they're probably saving that for Thanos, which would be the correct move. Not saying you couldn't do it the way you're suggesting, but it would be a bit of a muddled climax.

Has there been anymore rumors or news about Disney snagging Dr. Doom from Fox?

I don't know, but I really hope it happens. Last I heard there were rumours (possibly made up?) of Fox thinking of a third FF reboot; this time R-rated due to Deadpool's success. Who fucking knows what they're doing because they obviously don't know what to do with the brand. I don't personally have much interest in the Fantastic Four themselves, but I think Marvel could do a great job of Doom and Galactus.

Yeah they need more villains for sure. Especially after they burn through Thanos.

His "death" is pretty ambiguous so I'm pretty sure we'll see him in future films.

ALL the villains have some pretty ambiguous deaths so far

I think we've all shared that theory that they're all just sucked into the gems and Thanos is gonna bring em out to party in Infinity War

This would definitely be much better than having another super powered disposable soldier showdown.

Instead we get a true blue super hero team vs super villain team square-off.

I mean, they're set up perfectly for it. They keep the good villains (Malekith can fuck off), and any casting issues (Weaving) are easily fixed

Because when dark and gritty doesn't work, go dark and violent instead, right?

As many before have said: FF needs to be treated on par with Spider-man level lightheartedness to succeed.

You would trust them? Remember how glowing the SvB impressions were?

Marvel films get a certain amount of benefit of the doubt though. Plus, doubly so for the Russos as they made arguably the best Marvel film altogether on their last outing.

haven't paid attention to this movie all that much but how is Team Cap not ridiculously underpowered? Iron Man crushes these fools.

Scarlet Witch is a match for anyone on Stark's team (as evidenced by her taking down Vision in the trailer), if
Giant Man
shows up then some skulls are going to be knocked together, then you have Cap who's probably the best raw fighter out of all of them (excepting BP) and Hawkeye who will probably have some trickster arrows to level the playing field. I don't think it's going to be one-sided at all.

Would he even need to "bring them out." He'll have the power to control reality. He could just create them again, couldn't he?

Actually, last I heard, the FF sequel has been delayed indefinitely by Fox due to the crappy performance of the first film.

Since Marvel is working with Fox to develop X-Men TV shows, I believe the FF will come to the MCU eventually.

His best girl still owed him a dance.

Ugh. I just rewatched Winter Soldier last weekend, and that scene just kills me. I absolutely love Peggy, and her and Steve's relationship in The First Avenger was really well done. Two leads having chemistry with each other is so important, and Hayley and Chris had great chemistry.

On the other side, I actually hate that scene because it shows us that Peggy survives her adventures. I love the Agent Carter show, and knowing that she survives until the present day robs the tension out of any storylines where she is in "mortal danger."

I always wanted her fate to remain a mystery. Like she went on a classified op that no one knows about, then she vanished. Steve could be heartbroken about it, then in a later movie maybe she shows up, possibly young and alive, but something is off. She's not the same. Maybe she got sucked into an alt dimension. The Fantastic Four could find her. lol.

I feel like Agent Carter knows that there isn't much tension for Peggy herself since most of us knows she'll survive the events of the show. Instead, they seem to be focusing their tension on the other characters.

Cap America
Scarlet Witch
Winter Soldier
Falcon
Ant-Man
Hawkeye
Agent 13

Iron Man
War Machine
Vision
Black Widow
Black Panther
Spiderman

Someone should make a poll to see which team has the most support here

man I hope Thanos don't resort to fodder cg army to fight Avengers, I'd like to see him fight multiple Avengers by himself at once and actually win, at least for part one of the infinity war.

Well, they wreck it in ant-man as well. I mean I don't think its wrecked, but still.

I do absolutely love that scene, I was rewatching winter soldier last night with the directors commentary on, and they say they wanted to emphasise the fact that Cap has lost everything, and has no identity, hence why he hooked up with Shield, and all his relationships are gone, hence exemplified by the fact Peggy's mind is gone.

Fucking great scene in a great movie.

I think he's going to body the Avengers at the end of part 1. Somebody will probably die.

Observing this list like so, it's clear that Spider-man represents the balance of power since
SW+A
(G)
M=V+BP.

The remainder essentially cancel each other out.
