Star Citizen's Animation Engine Demonstration (Euphoria-like)

That is the first person player character in the video, they will not directly take control over you and make you do things that you do not command to do (i.e. protect yourself, i.e. raise your hands when you do not command it, etc.). What an NPC does (ala GTA or The FOrce Unleashed) is not demonstrated in this video.

Ehm with euphoria the player character is affected. Your own character braces for falls, grabs onto things, balances themselves when being pushed over etc.

I specifically remember my character in gta4 being dragged along by a car after grabbing the door handle just as the car takes off, or being hit by a car and realistically falling over etc.


This really looks nothing like what euphoria is doing and looks very primitive in comparison. It just looks like a simple ragdoll from the early 2000s when he falls down in your video.

I think a lot of the tech in star citizen looks cool, but this is not one of those...

What happened to the grabby hands system they spoke about earlier. That system looked pretty impressive but it seems it was put on halt as I've seen no mention of progress of it in awhile. That would add to the "euphoric" like animation system they seem to be going for.
 
For sure not "euphoria-like". Euphoria makes the character reacts a lot more, in this video when he crashes in the floor he just stay on a doll position and doesn't react at all. In Euphoria he would try to protect himselft from any damage..

Yeah it's didn't look anything like what Euphoria does

Coming with item system 2.0, maybe slightly sooner if cargo management come before it in Alpha PU.
