I am rarely for defending SE

But Its a little unfair to judge any future FF15 ports based on this. It would be fairer to compare it to Lighting Returns FF13.

With a game this old, running on 15 fps in battles and 30 fps in the field, including the option to play it through a emulator, this abomination could be serviceable, after all they updated the models and backgrounds. Worse case mod community could try to rip em and use them with PS1 emulated version. (Is PS 1 FF9 modding a thing?)

Who am I kidding, its gonna be disaster might as well put it on Win10 store with UWP to complete this train wreck.

Calm down guys! That page simply lists all licenses used for everything they used to create the Unity port of FF9. You can see this because they even included the license for AutoBuilder, which will certainly NOT be included in any build of FF9 (it is a script for the Unity Editor which means it isn't packaged with the game when built).

So yes, of course they used the Android SDK to create the Android port. Of course they used Google Play stuff. I'm also pretty sure references to these plugins would remain in the build even if these plugins aren't used on PC, forcing them to include them on the list anyway (even if they didn't just create one list with all licenses for all versions).

This seems pretty reasonable. Square can be fucking morons, but until the game is actually available, I'm willing to hold off any protest until there's more concrete evidence they've acted as we all fear.

It's probably a good idea to take this advice and actually see what's going on when it comes out...

This is gaf where people constantly jump to conclusions and it's always the end of the world.

Are people not buying because of something that Steam probably just automatically installs for you in the initial setup? A game is a game as long as there's no hoops to manually jump through.

Please tell me this is true, please SE.

LOL Squeenix

It doesn't make any sense an emulated version when the game runs on Unity.
Probably there's more behind.
I'm guessing they couldn't figure out how to build the desktop standalone without those dependencies.

This.
Stop overreacting guys, the game won't run in an emulator.

Hope you're right.

This sure is one awkward and stupid freakout, even for the gaming community. And thats saying a lot.

Why do people get upset about something like this when they obviously don't know anything about software development and licensing?

I think the word Android just sends PC people into a kneejerk panic.

Congrats on collaboratively creating a multilayered confectionary of idiotic bandwagon posts.
