Searched through the thread, but didn't see this Kotaku review posted yet. Patrick Klepek was pretty posiitve about it:

It’d be impossible for Dark Souls 3 to have the same impact as previous games; it’s the nature of sequels. The latest game doesn’t reinvent the skeleton wheel, but it doesn’t need to. It’s not a triumph, nor a revelation. Dark Souls 3 is simply a very good Dark Souls game.

I don't really like Kotaku but thought that was probably the best DS3 review (now that I've played it).

Giant Bomb - 4/5

If you’ve stuck it out this far (and especially if you actually care about the world and lore of Dark Souls), Dark Souls 3 will prove to be a satisfying coda to your time with the series. I can’t wait until the community goes into full lore-speculation and secret-finding modes. If Dark Souls needed to end--and all signs point to "Yes, it did"--I’m glad it was able to do so with such singular focus and form.
