Anyone outside the UK have some experience with GAME.co.uk shipping large items to your country?

I really, really, really want the Mirror's Edge Catalyst CE which isn't being released in the Netherlands. I could go with amazon.de but the box would be ruined with the giant USK logo and I don't know if the game would even be playable in English so I'd rather get it from GAME.co.uk which is also cheaper. Thing is, the page says "Please Note: Due to the weight of this item, we are unable to ship it internationally." yet I'm able to put it in my basket and choose international shipping. I think I may have also heard some experiences from people who ordered items which were also supposedly not being available for overseas shipping and were still shipped like normal, but I'm not sure.

I think they charge when the order ships so I might just give it a try.

I was able to place an order for the Final Fantasy XIII-2 CE with Game back when it came out but on release day they told me it was too heavy to ship. It only had to go as far as Ireland. I was pretty mad about that. I don't trust them to ship large items anymore.

Yep, arriving today apparently. I'm still kinda expecting it to turn up and be a something entirely different tbh

EDIT:

It actually exists!

Can anyone estimate when the next major PSN sale will take place?

I have £28 in my wallet and I'm anxious to spend it now something but only if it's been heavily discounted.

I imagine the next 'major' sale will be some kind of summer theme? Or maybe May Day? Who knows, although they have weekly sales of varying sizes.

I still don't understand why anyone trades in to these places. You're pretty much guaranteed to get a much better price on eBay.

If you are looking for something in particular, and use the "voucher" instead of cash, their prices are sometime ok, I mean you're trading for something else.

Apart from ebay-paypal scam issue (where buyer almost always win), and prepare/take thing to the post office, etc.

I don't use ebay for selling after my partner was ripped off in an utter joke of a refund request that ebay sided with.

Short version:

Sold childhood toys for £200
Buyer said thanks, they were perfect gift for her daughter.
Four months go by
Buyer sends message saying they broke (obviously her daughter broke them, because they "were perfect" when she received them), buyer wants refund.
Girlfriend politely declines.
Buyer takes it to ebay and wins a refund, despite my GF showing the messages about the items being perfect after receiving them.
Paypal account was currently empty so went £200 in the red
I think they closed it after 9 months of her ignoring their orders to pay up, and they couldn't take it themselves because she closed the related bank account the moment it happened..
Buyer never sent the stuff back either.

Wow this is incredibly shitty by ebay. Glad your girlfriend didnt have to pay anything in the end. Definitely wont be using ebay going forward.

Anyone know if there is any promo going on to purchase amazon.es giftcards? Sometime they give you 10 when you purchase €50, but I'm not seeing it right now.
I preorder the ps vr I want to pay it today, so giftcards is my best options.

I limit my ebay use to video games, there's so many alternates to ebay now days that you are better off in the long run even if you lose a little value.

My mother ordered a jacket a few years ago and was sent the wrong size (on purpose) when returning the item the seller closed their account which meant it was impossible at the time to file a complaint to it, because it was closed.

The largest thing I ever sold on ebay was my 2011 mac mini for £260, thankfully that went ok but never again.

I've only had one issue where someone in America decided to ask for a refund, after they most likely damaged the item themselves and ebay decided to give it to them, despite asking me to wait a couple of days while they investigated, since the poster was damaged between their centre and the buyer since I'd packaged it sufficiently & I'd sold the poster numerous times before without issue. Because they did this, I couldn't ask the customer to return the item before refunding them because eBay's seller protection is fucking stupid. I had to contact the VP of CS to get the money refunded to me because the scummy buyer decided to ignore me. I ended up being refunded, but the buyer got refunded and kept the poster.

Only to Germany. I have to use a forwarding services to get it to Austria.

Yeah, I've just been reading up on Borderlinx to see if they'd be useful since they can provide a German address. 80 Euro + 12 Euro Economy shipping wouldn't be too bad if it comes on release day, or at least within the week.

Anyone else have any experience with Borderlinx?

I've used them for stuff from the US , and it was reasonably quick but I feel very expensive for what you get (this was some quite small backpacking items which were very light (titanium) but it basically doubled what i paid the original shop for.

On the plus side they were well re-packaged , came to the UK in a few days and the whole process was pretty smooth.

Did you get hit by import duty/customs fees? That's the only thing that's put me off it for now, don't want to be paying another £15 on top of 92 Euro.

What is the best place to pre order Uncharted 4 in the UK? Just standard edition.

I intended to play it all Tuesday but have to work, so somewhere that dispatches a few days early is best. Also paypal would be preferred.

There are no real good deals out there, but Simply and TGC have it at a similar price and usually send early. They both send as soon as they receive and TGC have been doing slightly better than Simply recently in terms of early dispatch, but just remember that if Sony withholds the stock until a later date from the early dispatchers like some publishers are doing, nothing is guaranteed.

Thanks, I don't mind so much in terms of price. £42 is fine, I just want to maybe get it a day early. Will probably go with TGC.

Good thing it comes out before the bloody referendum then!

Thanks for the reassurance, it seems to be out of stock now but that's good to know in future.

Vote to stay in for no import fees AND to hope our currency strengthens again so we can raid amazon.fr/.es/.it/.de once again!!

Paying close to £42 for my goddamn digital US games like a chump over here.

You should try posting a request in the BST thread. A North American Gaffer may be willing to help you out.

Amazon don't really deliver early do they? I've got UC4 SE pre-ordered with them for £50 (thanks to £10 off) but I'm really tempted to cancel and pre-order with Simply (£60) to get it the Friday/Saturday before the Tuesday release, as Simply are renowned for.

If I can transfer that £10 voucher to something else on Amazon it'd be well worth it.

Nah, if you pay for next day/Prime, they'll send it Monday. If it's free delivery, you probably won't see it until after release.

Pretty much never. In fact I bet you'd get it quicker if you ordered the day before or on release day. Every game I pre-ordered with them was shipped late, the worst was Fallout 4 which was shipped 2 days after release and only because I nagged them asking why I pre-ordered a game months before to get it that late.

£38.85 at shopto according to the information below the isting, why they don't just knock £7 off instead of it only applying after pre-ordering beats me

Special Offer - Only £38.85

Discount of £7 from the base list price will be applied after confirming preorder

No , but they were cheap (around $30 for the original item around $25 for their fee's and they were packaged with the *original* price on it not the totals)

Is that site even legit?

It's not authorised by Valve, EA, or whatever, but it is legit. They have cheaper keys because they buy from official distributors of cheaper countries, or get the keys from physical copies in those cheaper regions.

The other path is just buying it from those countries yourself. You can use a VPN to get it from Origin Mexico for 40 USD last I checked.

The problem with buying it from the UK is the price is ridiculous for PC games, since they're charging £50 now. Even with GMG's 25% off you're looking at £37.5

Thanks everyone. Grey sellers are kind of dubious and not sure I want to do it.

EA has removed the option so it's no longer to buy with a foreign card in the Mexican Origin store. I get an error when using either card or paypal associated with a non-Mexican country.

Hm, when was that?

It was still fine back in Feb. Though I used paypal.

What error?

Weird, are you using a good VPN?

Is that site even legit?

Yes, not an official reseller but the keys they sell are legit, they buy in bulk from cheap countries. I've used them many, many times without issue.

Did you make sure to turn your VPN off before you logged into your account?

Their system sometimes checks payment address against your ip location, and it errors out if they don't match. So you actually want your normal IP address when going through the checkout.

Yep, I've tried that already but it just throws me back to my original country store and empties my basket when I disable the VPN at the final checkout page.

Don't disable it at the final page. Log out(to clear your login cookie), and disable it when the store bring up a page to put your email/pass in.

It doesn't remove stuff from your basket if you disable it at that point.

Unless you mean you already did that.

Otherwise I saw someone mention completely removing your payment options and going through the checkout then solves a problem giving the same error.

Worst case scenario you may have been blacklisted by the system, in which case you have to go through customer support.
