Star Fox Zero: The Battle Begins (Animated Short to Premiere 4/20)

I don't think Mario or Zelda, despite being big dogs, are the best for this type of work. I believe more plot driven series would benefit far more, like Fire Emblem or Xenoblade (especially X, imo) and result in much more interesting shows.
Who doesn't want a whole series akin to Xenoblade X's Chapter 9?

I agree wholeheartedly, it'd also come with the obvious benefit of putting less known IPs in the public eye. The likes of Earthbound and indeed Xenoblade could make for amazing series.

I agree that there are too many different angles to choose from when adapting the big two. Medium and smaller series can focus on some of the defining aspects of the game in terms of character and mood. I don't think any huge projects are incoming, but I hope to see more neat collaborations in the vein of the various Smash4 character intros, but of a scale more akin to the Pikmin shorts and this Starfox one.

Man that Animé short was amazing and I would heartily welcome more. I really do hope that we more game after Star Fox Zero.

I also need those Star Fox Plush.

That's a lot of dogs/canines.

I just love the opening where Fox's internal monologue is talking about his all-star team and it's contrasted with Slippy zoned out on the couch and Falco raging at a videogame, haha. I also like this nagging version of Peppy.

Man, everything was perfect. I'm legitimately surprised. If I were a producer and they showed me this pilot episode, I'd green-light it so hard that it would make for the most dangerous traffic intersection in the world.

I don't think the angles would be the problem with the big two, the problems are more along the lines of:

Mario: Plot extremely simple. The cast is there, alright. Could probably be worked into a series of tiny episodes, something goofy and light hearted.

Zelda: Plot is there, but the gameplay isn't all that exciting to look at. Puzzles are fun to solve, not to watch someone else solve them. Also, the silent protagonist doesn't help. If you remove the dungeons, all you got left is exploration. Want to watch Link explore a forest alone? No thanks =p Give him a bunch of friends? That's not Zelda anymore.

Zelda could be based more around the sidequests, with the Temple stuff more of an overarching/background detail.

Or they could just set the show in the world of Zelda and feature different characters each week

I was wondering the very same thing. Unless Corneria is a mostly canine city, but even if it is, to not see a single other species is a tad... odd.

I guess that'd be a way to go, but neither focus much on Zelda's best features, do they?

A silent 5-10 minute short of Link completing a dungeon could be pretty amazing dude!

Please PLEASE PLEASE Nintendo; show Wonderful-101 some love. Its a franchise RIPE with potential, the characters are already there and THEY ARE AMAZING. Anime shorts could launch the franchise to FAME AND GLORY. Then give platinum a blank cheque for Wonderful-102 :)

Captain Falcon shorts could also be great! Kid Icarus, Donkey Kong! CHRIST Nintendo use your I.Ps!

It's like the exact opposite of Zootopia.

The Lylat system is just extremely xenophobic

I remember in the original StarFox comic (the one from Nintendo Power), that Venom was supposed to be the place where all the scaly people in the Galaxy resided and who Andross soon turned into his army. It'd be funny if that same thing happened here, again.

Seeing all those dog people really makes me want them to finally bring in Fay from Star Fox 2:

Take a moment to look at that pic and appreciate how her totes-to-adorbs ratio is off the charts.

White fur with a red ribbon is a nice color scheme, too.

Needs to be in episode 2, which needs to be on YouTube right now.

Along with Uncle Grippy, and Wolf.

I'd watch a W101 series so hard. It has some lines I really like.
One of my favourite is when Red recites Vorkken's title for the second(?) time and Blue says "I've been waiting to knock some sense into this cat."
Plus, it'd allow to explore Yellow, White and Black a little more.

Both Star Fox 2 characters need to have been brought back ages ago. TBH

I find it hard to believe that copyright issues are, well, an issue. Whatever they have to pay in the short term will be made up for in the long term by endlessly releasing their classic games.

Dogs and monkeys are supposedly mortal enemies in Japanese lore. It's why Command hints that Andross' banishment to Venom might have had more to do with Pepper's personal dislike of him than his alleged unethical experimentation.
Only question is where does everyone else come from then? If they're still pulling from old canon then I think Falco was from Zoness but what, is that full of bird people too? Deserted Venom full of monkeys?? I NEED ANSWERS NOW DAMNNIT!

All I know is I'm expecting more racism against monkeys.

But where does Slippy come from? This is an answer Neiteio must know.

I want to believe there are underwater cities in Corneria.
