just FYI, there's also a Star Fox Guard |OT|
Word, haven't gotten around to firing it up yet.

I didn't find it challenging beyond figuring out the patterns and how to properly dodge. Most of my lives were lost because he used some new attack I couldn't figure out how to avoid before he killed me. For the eye lasers, just watch them and hover with the Walker, or stand still, depending on where they're coming from.
The one attack I couldn't figure out how to dodge was his magnet hand attack. I had no idea what to do there, luckily he didn't seem to do it that often so it didn't matter.
You were using the Walker for the entire fight, right? The arena and the battle is set up entirely for using the Walker 100% of the time, except for dodging the big laser barrage.
When he magnetizes you and you're brought towards his hand, you have to use the motion aiming to target the weak spot on his hand and shoot it a lot. Too much, really. If you're successful, he'll shake his hand in pain.
Yea, I thought that, but no matter how much I shot his hand, it didn't seem to matter. I was mashing the fire button and hitting him, but even that wasn't enough.
Did you pick up twin lasers after you blew up his first hand? And, of course, it's better if you had twin lasers before so you can have hyper lasers.
Yep, I don't know, maybe I wasn't hitting him even though it looked like I was
Be ready to shoot - I mean, line up the reticle with the hand - as he raises the closed fist. Oh, and use the first-person perspective... try to remember how you battled those small grapple beam things on Titenia and apply your skills here.
Yeah, it's tricky, and you gotta fail a lot, but it's totally possible to destroy the grappling hand with lasers.
Once I prioritized gyro aiming over looking at the second screen the controls started to click. I was basically just controlling it like SF64 with an extra screen, which you can do, but I'm thinking higher scores will be possibly by actually getting good at gyro aiming.
How do I unlock the other arwings without amiibo?
I thought I remember reading you can, but I haven't seen any method posted online yet on how to do it.
Get all 70 gold medals.
Jesus
Is the amiibo unlock permanent? If so I'll just borrow my brother's Fox amiibo.

Remeber to also pull back on the control stick
Platinum games control cycle continues. Every game of theirs has a difficulty curve mastering the controls but once people get past it there is a gem to be found.
How are you holding the Gamepad? Where are you looking to shoot?I just don't feel like I have control over where I'm aiming, and when I do, I don't have conrol over where the ship is flying. I feel like I'm fighting the controls rather than the game, which really sucks because the game itself is awesome, but not enjoyable due to this stupid aiming crap.
For the love of God I hope we somehow get a classic control scheme somehow patched in. Starfox holds a special place in my heart, and not having any real CO trol in this game is killing me inside.
Oh, I haven't tried that, thanks!Huh. From what I remember, braking was crucial for most Andross fights... wonder why I hadn't decided to brake there.
Got me a Mirror's Edge beta code, but I kinda just want to play some more Star Fox.
The one silly part of the controls that bother me is barrel rolling not being on the trigger buttons
Even though I've been playing for hours, I can't get used to it.
It's been on the triggers since the SNES...
These gold medals hidden throughout the stages, you get them for actually finding them in the level and also satisfying some hidden criteria right?
Trust your instincts.
Definitely, loads of people absolutely refuse to try new things.Honestly wondering if all the people having issues with motion controls and disliking Star fox are going to be the same that don't take to VR and the interactive gestures for that also.

I am sooo loving this game. I'm finding that I love the Land Master most of all. It just feels so good to me.
I just can't get a handle on high scores. After a million tries I got gold in Corneria and now I'm working on Sector a but man what am I doing wrong or missing?

Andbarely with the game design.I don't think they had anything to do with the controls.

I use motion and gyro controls in most games that offer the options, including Star Fox 643D, and I don't like it at all in this.Honestly wondering if all the people having issues with motion controls and disliking Star fox are going to be the same that don't take to VR and the interactive gestures for that also.
Sigh, who the hell came up with the control scheme for chicken mode. It's 2016, we have 3rd person shooter control nailed now. Could have just copied Splatoon
I think my biggest issue with controls is the barrel roll on the right stick. It needs to be on a button, just too awkward to use right now. Motion controls clicked nearly instantly for me, although all range mode requires some getting used to.
I must be the only one who enjoys chickenwing. It's got an unruly sense to the controls like a runaway starchicken probably should. Looking at the GamePad while doing barrels rolls and shooting stuff is bad ass.

Bring on Vanquish 2: The Chickenwingening
